Job summary

Clera is seeking an experienced backend engineer to build and own core services for AI-native operations software in Berlin. You will craft secure, observable backends and manage both hosted and self-hosted deployments, collaborating with product teams to deliver high-quality features.

With 1–6 years of backend experience and proficiency in TypeScript/NestJS, PostgreSQL, and Prisma, you will contribute to reliability, security, and performance while embracing AI-native practices for rapid

• 1–6 years of professional backend development experience.
• Production software experience with TypeScript and NestJS.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and Prisma.
• Experience deploying with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform or Pulumi).
• Improving production systems for reliability, security, performance, or observability.
• Practical experience with AI, ML, or AI-native systems.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Join a small engineering team building AI-native operations software for private markets. You will own core backend infrastructure that supports reliable, secure workflows across hosted and self-hosted deployments.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Build and maintain backend systems for permissions, auditability, traceability, and observability.
• Manage deployment architectures for hosted and self-hosted environments using infrastructure-as-code tools.
• Improve production reliability, performance, and security.
• Partner with product teams to deliver features while maintaining quality standards.
• Apply AI-native development practices to support rapid, high-quality releases.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• One to six years of professional backend development experience.
• Production experience building backend services with TypeScript and NestJS.
• Production experience with PostgreSQL and Prisma.
• Experience managing deployments with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or Pulumi.
• Experience improving production systems in areas such as reliability, security, performance, observability, or auditability.
• Practical experience with AI, machine learning, large language models, or AI-native systems.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Compensation is €70,000 to €110,000 annually.
