SumUp ищет опытного backend-инженера в Берлине для проектирования и эксплуатации масштабируемых сервисов. Основной фокус на Go, поддержка существующих Java-сервисов и развитие API вместе с архитектурой распределённых систем.

Кандидат будет работать над инициацией онбординга партнеров, верификацией личности и соблюдением KYC/KYB, улучшением наблюдаемости и устойчивости систем, а также разворачивать решения в AWS с использованием Docker и Kubernetes.

Qualifikationen

• Опыт разработки и эксплуатации продукционных бэкэнд-систем с ощутимым бизнес-эффектом.
• Опыт работы с Go и Java, включая эволюцию существующих сервисов на Java.
• Слабое/сильное проектирование API, распределённых систем и моделирование данных.
• Опыт работы с платформами потоков событий (Kafka) и инструментами наблюдаемости (Grafana, Honeycomb).
• Опыт развёртывания и эксплуатации сервисов в облаке (AWS), желательно с Docker и Kubernetes.
• Сильное чувство ответственности и умение решать сложные задачи от определения до продакшна.
• Умение улучшать надёжность критичных систем и превращать инциденты в улучшения.

Aufgaben

• Проектирование, сборка и эксплуатация масштабируемых бэкэнд-сервисов, API и рабочих процессов на Event-Driven архитектуре.
• Разработка повторно используемых функций для онбординга покупателей, верификации личности и KYC/KYB.
• Улучшение надёжности и наблюдаемости критических сервисов, минимизация рисков и реагирование на инциденты.
• Работа predominately на Go, плавная модернизация существующих сервисов на Java.
• Расширение доменных моделей и границ сервисов, упрощение сложной интеграции.
• Ревью кода, менторство инженеров и повышение инженерных стандартов.

Design, build, and operate scalable backend services, APIs, event-driven workflows, and system integrations Build reusable capabilities for merchant onboarding, identity verification, and KYC/KYB regulatory data collection Drive reliability and resilience across critical services through better observability, failure handling, incident response, and long-term risk reduction Work primarily with Go while maintaining and progressively modernising existing Java services Evolve domain models and service boundaries while reducing legacy complexity, duplicated logic, and tightly coupled integrations with a pragmatic, incremental mindset Own work end-to-end, from technical design and implementation to rollout and production follow-up Work across team and domain boundaries, turning ambiguous product and regulatory requirements into clear, scalable technical solutions Review code and designs, mentor engineers, and help raise engineering standards across the mission

Требования:

Strong professional experience building and operating production backend systems with high business impact Experience with Go and Java, including maintaining and evolving existing Java services Strong knowledge of API design, distributed systems, asynchronous processing, data modelling, testing, and system design Experience with event streaming platforms such as Kafka and observability tools such as Grafana or Honeycomb Experience deploying and operating services in cloud environments such as AWS, ideally with Docker and Kubernetes Strong ownership mindset and ability to take complex problems from definition through production Experience improving the reliability of business-critical systems and turning recurring incidents into lasting engineering improvements Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach across Engineering, Product, Compliance, Risk, and Operations Будет плюсом: experience in fintech, payments, KYC/KYB, identity verification, or regulatory systems; translating regulatory and compliance requirements into clear, scalable engineering solutions and bridging Compliance and Engineering
