Zusammenfassung

Jobtailor is seeking a backend Java developer to join a client project in a fintech/SaaS environment. You will craft secure REST APIs with Spring Boot, optimize PostgreSQL data models, and contribute to a microservices-based backend.

You will collaborate with frontend, QA, DevOps, and product teams, owning features end-to-end and ensuring code quality via automated tests and reviews. Fluency in English is required; Spanish is a bonus.

• Write clean, maintainable, testable, and efficient Java code using Spring Boot.
• Build and maintain secure, reliable REST APIs and backend services.
• Work with PostgreSQL, Hibernate, database schemas, queries, indexes, migrations, and data models.
• Translate product and business requirements into reliable backend functionality.
• Develop and maintain microservices within a distributed backend architecture.
• Implement third-party integrations, internal services, and other backend integrations.
• Ensure validation, edge-case handling, data consistency, and correctness.
• Write and maintain automated tests and collaborate with QA engineers.
• Own assigned backend features from implementation through testing and release.
• Collaborate with frontend, QA, DevOps, product, design, and client-side stakeholders.
• Raise unclear requirements, technical risks, dependencies, and potential issues early.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional backend development experience
• Strong practical knowledge of modern Java development; Java 21 preferred
• Strong hands-on experience with Spring Boot
• Practical experience with Hibernate / JPA
• Good understanding of PostgreSQL, relational databases, SQL, data modeling, and query performance
• Experience designing, implementing, testing, and consuming RESTful APIs
• Experience with automated backend testing
• Comfortable working with Git, pull requests, code reviews, and collaborative development workflows
• Familiarity with microservices and distributed systems
• Experience with AWS or another cloud environment is a plus; ECS/Fargate particularly useful
• Fluent professional English is mandatory
• Spanish is a significant advantage
• Ability to independently handle assigned features and communicate requirements, dependencies, and technical decisions
• Experience in Fintech, SaaS, HR, Payroll, ERP, AI-enabled products, or complex Enterprise platforms is a plus
• Experience using Claude Code or similar AI-assisted development tools is a bonus
