Zusammenfassung

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced software engineer to own features end-to-end, spanning backend services in Java 21 and Spring Boot 3, and frontend UI in React/TypeScript. You will design relational data models in PostgreSQL, build event-driven features with Kafka, and deploy on AWS.

You will collaborate with US-based leadership and Spanish-speaking stakeholders, mentor peers, and uphold engineering standards across teams. Strong English communication is required.

Qualifikationen

• 6+ years of professional software development experience across backend and frontend.
• Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design.
• Hands-on experience with a statically typed backend language (Java strongly preferred) and a relational database (PostgreSQL).
• Hands-on experience building production UI with React and TypeScript (Tailwind, TanStack Query).
• Production experience designing and operating microservices-based, distributed systems.
• Experience using an AI coding tool to accelerate development.
• Experience with Git-based source control and collaborative code review (GitHub).
• Professional working proficiency in English, spoken and written, for daily collaboration with a US-based team.

• Own features end-to-end, from backend service design through the user interface, from technical design through production.

• Build event-driven features using Kafka where appropriate.
• Make architecture decisions, service boundaries, API contracts, data models, and UI/state patterns that other engineers build on.
• Monitor and operate services on AWS, following infrastructure patterns established by the DevOps team.
• Use AI coding tools to accelerate day-to-day development, applying engineering judgment to validate, test, and override AI-generated output when necessary.
• Write automated tests across the stack and enforce quality through code review.
• Mentor other engineers and help set technical standards across backend and frontend.
• Partner with product, customer support, and US-based leadership to translate business requirements from Spanish-speaking stakeholders into shipped features.
• Collaborate daily with US-based engineering leadership and Spanish-speaking business stakeholders across Latin America.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 6+ years of professional software development experience across both backend and frontend.
• Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design.
• Hands-on experience with a statically typed backend language (Java strongly preferred) and a relational database (e.g., PostgreSQL).
• Hands-on experience building production UI with React and TypeScript (Tailwind, TanStack Query).
• Production experience designing and operating microservices-based, distributed systems.
• Experience using an AI coding tool (e.g., Claude Code, Codex) to accelerate development.
• Experience with Git-based source control and collaborative code review (e.g., GitHub).
• Comfort working from the command line in a Linux/Unix environment.
• Experience mentoring engineers or leading a small technical team.
• Professional working proficiency in English, spoken and written, sufficient for daily collaboration with a US-based team.
• Experience with Java 21, Spring Boot 3, and Next.js.
• Experience with gRPC/Protobuf or another contract-first service design approach is a plus.
• Experience with event-driven architecture and a message broker (e.g., Kafka) is a plus.
• Experience deploying and operating services on AWS is a plus.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., AWS CDK, Terraform) is a plus.
• Experience designing AI-powered product features (semantic search, vector databases, prompt/instruction design, testing non-deterministic systems) is a plus.
• Experience in HR technology, marketplace platforms, or other SaaS products is a plus.
• Prior experience working directly with a US-based team or client is a plus.
• Successful completion of employment verification and background checks, confirming job titles and dates of employment with two previous employers.
