Zusammenfassung

Das Leibniz-Institut für Kristallzüchtung (IKZ) sucht Bachelor- oder Master-Studenten als Studentische Hilfskraft, um Forschung im Bereich Kristallzüchtung zu unterstützen. Sie arbeiten in einem internationalen Team an der Cz-Wachstumsforschung von Bulk-Kristallen (Si, Ge, SiGe) und erwerben Einblicke in moderne Laborprozesse.

Zu Ihren Aufgaben gehört die Mitarbeit an der Prozessentwicklung, die eigenständige Labortätigkeit sowie die Anwendung von Cz-Pullern und führenden Laboreinrichtungen.

Qualifikationen

• Einschreibung in einem naturwissenschaftlichen Studiengang (Chemie/Physik oder Materialwissenschaft)

The Leibniz Institute for Crystal Growth (IKZ) is a leading research institution in the field of science & technology as well as service & transfer of crystalline materials. Our goal is to enable solutions for pressing societal challenges (e.g. communication, artificial intelligence, climate protection, health, etc.) through modern electronic & photonic technologies. The work covers the entire spectrum from basic and applied research to pre-industrial development and is carried out in cooperation with national and international partners from universities, academies and industry. to do their research work in the field of semiconductor crystal growth.

The Czochralski (Cz) growth of bulk crystals is a unique expertise of our institute and is one of the main stream research activities of volume crystals department. The Si, Ge and SiGe are semiconductor materials, and the high-quality crystals of these materials with tailored properties and/or with ultra-high-purity find wider applications in energy-efficient electronics, photonics, quantum computing, or radiation detectors for fundamental research. You will be learning and contributing to the process developments using our pre-industrial scale Cz-pullers and state-of-the art lab facilities.

Pre-requisites:

• Enrolment in a natural science course (preferably chemistry, physics or materials science)
• Interest in research & technology
• Good knowledge of English
• Basic knowledge of German is advantageous
• Reliability, motivation and independent work, both in the laboratory and on the computer
