Avionics Systems Engineer for New Aircraft Development
Our Client is seeking an accomplished Avionics Systems Engineer to join their innovative team towards the development of their next-generation aircraft platform.
Role Overview
This key technical role has been created to own the avionics system through integration, testing and certification. With a focus on system engineering, safety, testing and regulatory compliance, the Avionics Systems Engineer will be instrumental in shaping system architecture, driving lab and flight test programmes, and ensuring the platform meets the highest certification standards. This is a unique opportunity to work hands-on within a rapidly expanding and international aviation environment, contributing to a industry defining aerospace project.
Responsibilities
- Plan, execute and document avionics system tests to demonstrate safety of flight and support certification activities.
- Develop and review System Specifications and System Requirements for build-to-spec suppliers.
- Produce design sketches and technical input for the creation of Electrical Schematic Diagrams (ESDs) based on system block diagrams and architecture.
- Develop laboratory test procedures and programmes for Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) software verification.
- Execute and analyse Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing to validate avionics system functionality.
- Define and coordinate ground and flight test programmes for engineering validation and certification in collaboration with the Compliance Verification Engineer (CVE).
- Review and approve Electrical Schematic Diagrams, Wiring Diagrams, Material Lists and Wire Lists for technical accuracy and compliance.
- Prepare and review certification, compliance and safety documentation supporting EASA approval.
- Provide technical support to Manufacturing and Production Engineering during prototype aircraft integration, testing and troubleshooting.
Requirements
- 3-5+ years in aircraft avionics systems development, integration and certification within EASA CS-23 and/or CS-25 programmes.
- Good understanding of avionics system architecture, design, integration and verification.
- Familiarity with EASA certification processes, experience with Communications, Navigation and Surveillance equipment certification is highly appreciated.
- Experience supporting ground, laboratory and flight test activities is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical, communication and organisational skills with the ability to work across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Fluent in English; German language skills are advantageous.
