Overview
Kollabtek is looking for an Avionics Engineer to join a high-impact systems engineering team, working on advanced aeronautical platforms. You will contribute to the development, integration and certification of state-of-the-art avionics and electrical systems in civil and military environments. This role is ideal for someone who wants to work at the intersection of systems engineering, certification, and real-world aircraft integration.
Responsibilities
- Analyze project, production and certification requirements to develop avionics and electrical solutions.
- Support system integration (component selection, interfaces, wiring diagrams, installation requirements).
- Develop and manage system requirements, architecture, and interfaces through requirements management tools.
- Prepare and maintain certification deliverables (plans, qualification plans, compliance matrices).
- Coordinate with vendors for the development, integration and testing of avionics systems (display, flight instruments, communications/navigation, sensors, health and management systems, etc).
- Develop test plans and procedures, analyze results and write qualification reports (component and aircraft level).
- Perform certification analyses (electrical, thermal, safety, EMC, HIRF, lightning).
- Participate in testing (LRU, systems, integration lab – LIS, ground and flight tests).
- Support first aircraft installations (ISPs) and troubleshooting activities.
- Review and validate vendor technical documentation.
Background and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in electrical, avionics or related engineering.
- Approximately 5+ years of relevant aerospace experience (or equivalent).
- Experience in avionics systems integration (civil and/or military – an asset).
- Good understanding of aircraft avionics and electrical systems.
- Ability to work independently on technical issues of intermediate complexity.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- Comfortable collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and external partners.
- Bilingual (English, French).
- Certification & qualification: DO-160, DO-178, DO-254, MIL-STD-810 / 461 / 464.
- Airworthiness: FAR/AWM 27 & 29.
- Safety & Reliability: ARP4761, MIL-HDBK-217.
- Systems Lifecycle: ARP4754A, ISO 15288.
