Creotech Instruments S.A. is a Polish manufacturer and integrator of satellites and satellite systems. Using our proprietary HyperSat platform, we design, manufacture, integrate and test satellites, and also support their launch and in-orbit operations. We carry out advanced space programmes, including in the fields of Earth observation for defence and dual-use applications, space situational awareness, and enhancing the resilience of navigation systems. We have our own electronics manufacturing facility and a small satellite integration facility certified by the European Space Agency (ESA). Since 2022, we have been listed on the Main Market of the Warsaw Stock Exchange as the first Polish company in the space technology sector. Join the team that is building Poland’s space capabilities.
We are looking for an Avionics Architect to define and lead the avionics architecture for our spacecraft, working from early trade studies through to flight-ready implementation. You will translate spacecraft requirements (defined and driven by Systems Engineering) into a robust and scalable avionics design.
Your responsibilities:
- Own the spacecraft avionics architecture
- Translate system requirements into technical design decisions
- Manage technical and performance budgets
- Conduct technical trade studies (e.g. COTS vs. custom solutions, radiation tolerance, redundancy)
- Review unit designs within your area of expertise
- Own ICDs and interfaces (internal and external partners), including pinouts, grounding, etc.
- Lead avionics activities in project reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, QR)
- Contribute to product line development (delta vs. heritage approach)
Our requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in avionics, embedded systems, or electronics engineering within New Space companies
- Proven experience owning the architecture of complex embedded/electronic systems
- Strong understanding of: Digital electronics and embedded systems (MCUs, FPGAs, memory, peripherals), Interfaces and protocols (e.g. CAN, Ethernet, SpaceWire, SPI, I2C, UART, PUS, CCSDS), Requirements and interface documentation (ICDs), as well as configuration management, Verification and test strategies
- Ability to communicate clearly and make sound trade-offs under constraints (mass, power, schedule, cost, reliability)
- Hands‑on mindset when needed (e.g. design reviews, operational support)
- Fluent English (written and spoken)
Optional:
- Experience with space systems (CubeSats / SmallSats) and relevant standards (ECSS, NASA practices)
- Understanding of radiation effects (TID, SEE) and rad‑tolerant design approaches
- EMC/EMI design and testing experience
- Experience with: RTOS or embedded Linux, Safety concepts (FMEA, fault trees), Spacecraft data handling and FDIR, PUS communication standards
- Familiarity with typical subsystem interfaces (ADCS sensors/actuators, EPS, TT&C radios, payloads)
- Familiarity with the SpaceVPX standard
