Job summary

MANTECH seeks a motivated Aviation Ground Support Equipment Mechanic to join our vehicle sustainment team in Kindsbach, Germany. You will support global logistics for multiple vehicle families under the ALECS program.

Selected candidates may start in a temporary role while obtaining an EU work visa, then transition to a full-time German contract with German tax and healthcare requirements.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of qualified mechanical experience with related degree or 8+ years with trade/assoc degree or 10+ years experience.
• Experience with trucks, ground power units, aircraft tugs, de-icing vehicles, cargo loaders, or similar equipment.
• Experience with maintenance, troubleshooting, design, and repair of U.S. systems and subsystems to component level.
• Experience with hand tools, diagnostic tools, power tools, multi-meters and standard troubleshooting procedures.
• Willingness to travel to mission locations in US, Europe and Pacific, 40+ hours on missions.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, repair, rebuild, or overhaul major assemblies of engines and related components.
• Replace worn parts and adjust valves; repair fuel injection, lighting, and ignition systems.
• Provide maintenance support and troubleshoot systems to component level.
• Verify fuel, lubricants, and coolant levels and follow troubleshooting procedures.
• Maintain records and documentation for data processing.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job description

MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Aviation Ground Support Equipment Mechanic to join our vehicle sustainment team in Kindsbach, Germany . The selected candidate will provide logistics support to multiple families of vehicles globally on the Allied Logistics Engineering Capabilities Sustainment (ALECS) program.

Important Note: Selected candidates without an ACTIVE German/E.U. Work Visa will be required to work the first 60 days in a Temporary role while obtaining their Visa. Once an E.U. Work Visa is approved, then you will be offered a Full-Time German Contract. If accepted, then you will be subjected to paying German taxes, obtaining German Healthcare, and working within the guidelines of the German labor system.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Inspects, repairs, rebuilds, or overhauls major assemblies of internal combustion engines, hydraulic cylinders, fuel pumps, fuel/hydraulic lines, voltage regulators and generators used in aviation ground support equipment.

• Work involves replacing worn or broken parts such as motors, bearings, or other engine parts; adjusting valves; and repairing fuel injection, lighting, and ignition systems.

• Maintenance support including operations of powered and non-powered units, system troubleshooting, engineering, analysis, maintenance and repair of commercial and military aviation ground support systems and subsystems to the component level.

• Perform preventative maintenance on electrical power support systems by verifying proper fuel, lubricants and coolant levels. Effectively applies industry or military standard troubleshooting procedures to localize and isolate faulty system components.

• Maintains and prepares records and documentation to ensure accurate and timely data processing.

• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications :

• 4+ years of qualified mechanical experience and a bachelor's degree in a related field (OR) 8+ years of qualified mechanical experience and a trade school certification or associate degree in a related field (OR) 10+ years of qualified mechanical experience.

• Qualified mechanical experience includes one or more of the following: light or heavy-duty trucks, ground power units, aircraft tugs, air conditioning and heater units, cargo loaders, de-icing vehicles, runway sweepers, light carts, fuel and defuel equipment.

• Experience with maintenance support to include operations, system troubleshooting, engineering, design, installation, analysis, maintenance and repair of U.S. systems and subsystems to component level.

• Experience with a variety of hand tools, diagnostic tools, power tools, multi-meters; experience applying industry and/or military standard troubleshooting procedures to isolate faulty system components.

• Willingness to travel to mission locations within the United States, Europe and Pacific region on an as needed basis and work 40+ hours on missions that will vary in length.

• Ability to successfully pass a Pre-Employment Drug Screening; must possess a Valid Driver's License for the location in which the work will be performed, a High School Diploma or GED, and a Passport valid for at least one year beyond the start date.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with commercial and military aviation ground support equipment.

Clearance Requirements:

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance prior to starting this position.

• Applicants hired as local nationals in Germany must have a current favorable LNSP or be eligible to obtain one. Non-German applicants without a current favorable LNSP must have resided in Germany for at least 12 consecutive months to be eligible for LNSP.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to balance, bend, carry, crouch, stretch and kneel.

• Must be able to push, pull, and reach.

• Must be able to work in high noise areas.

• Must be able to lift 50lbs and small parts.

• Must be able to work with computers and CRTs, and type on a computer keyboard.
