Job summary

MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Aviation Ground Support Equipment Mechanic to join our vehicle sustainment team in Kindsbach, Germany. The selected candidate will provide logistics support to multiple families of vehicles globally on the ALECS program.

Responsibilities include inspection, repair, and overhaul of engines and subsystems in aviation ground support equipment, with strict adherence to maintenance procedures, tools, and safety standards.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of mechanical experience with a related degree.
• 8+ years with a trade school certification or associate degree.
• 10+ years of mechanical experience.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, repair, rebuild, or overhaul major assemblies of engines and components used in aviation ground support equipment.
• Replace worn parts, adjust valves, and repair fuel injection, lighting, and ignition systems.
• Provide maintenance support, troubleshooting, and data recording for GSE systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance on electrical power support systems and verify fluids and coolant levels.
• Travel to mission locations as needed and maintain documentation.

Job description

MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Aviation Ground Support Equipment Mechanic to join our vehicle sustainment team in Kindsbach, Germany. The selected candidate will provide logistics support to multiple families of vehicles globally on the Allied Logistics Engineering Capabilities Sustainment (ALECS) program.

• Important Note*: Selected candidates without an ACTIVE German/E.U. Work Visa will be required to work the first 60 days in a Temporary role while obtaining their Visa. Once an E.U. Work Visa is approved, then you will be offered a Full-Time German Contract. If accepted, then you will be subjected to paying German taxes, obtaining German Healthcare, and working within the guidelines of the German labor system.
  

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To

• Inspects, repairs, rebuilds, or overhauls major assemblies of internal combustion engines, hydraulic cylinders, fuel pumps, fuel/hydraulic lines, voltage regulators and generators used in aviation ground support equipment.
• Work involves replacing worn or broken parts such as motors, bearings, or other engine parts; adjusting valves; and repairing fuel injection, lighting, and ignition systems.
• Maintenance support including operations of powered and non-powered units, system troubleshooting, engineering, analysis, maintenance and repair of commercial and military aviation ground support systems and subsystems to the component level.
• Perform preventative maintenance on electrical power support systems by verifying proper fuel, lubricants and coolant levels. Effectively applies industry or military standard troubleshooting procedures to localize and isolate faulty system components.
• Maintains and prepares records and documentation to ensure accurate and timely data processing.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
  

Minimum Qualifications

• 4+ years of qualified mechanical experience and a bachelor’s degree in a related field (OR) 8+ years of qualified mechanical experience and a trade school certification or associate degree in a related field (OR) 10+ years of qualified mechanical experience.
• Qualified mechanical experience includes one or more of the following: light or heavy-duty trucks, ground power units, aircraft tugs, air conditioning and heater units, cargo loaders, de-icing vehicles, runway sweepers, light carts, fuel and defuel equipment.
• Experience with maintenance support to include operations, system troubleshooting, engineering, design, installation, analysis, maintenance and repair of U.S. systems and subsystems to component level.
• Experience with a variety of hand tools, diagnostic tools, power tools, multi-meters; experience applying industry and/or military standard troubleshooting procedures to isolate faulty system components.
• Willingness to travel to mission locations within the United States, Europe and Pacific region on an as needed basis and work 40+ hours on missions that will vary in length.
• Ability to successfully pass a Pre-Employment Drug Screening; must possess a Valid Driver’s License for the location in which the work will be performed, a High School Diploma or GED, and a Passport valid for at least one year beyond the start date.

• Familiarity with commercial and military aviation ground support equipment.
  

Clearance Requirements

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance prior to starting this position.
• Applicants hired as local nationals in Germany must have a current favorable LNSP or be eligible to obtain one. Non-German applicants without a current favorable LNSP must have resided in Germany for at least 12 consecutive months to be eligible for LNSP.
