Job summary

MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Associate Mechanic to join our vehicle sustainment team in Waldmohr, Germany. The selected candidate will provide maintenance support to multiple families of vehicles globally on the ALECS program.

Responsibilities include repairs, rebuilds, or overhauls of major assemblies, and routine maintenance on engines, power transmission systems, and related equipment. A German/EU work visa and valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• Active Germany/EU Work Visa or ability to obtain one.
• Two years of automotive maintenance experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Job description

MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Associate Mechanic to join our vehicle sustainment team in Waldmohr, Germany. The selected candidate will provide maintenance support to multiple families of vehicles globally on the Allied Logistics Engineering Capabilities Sustainment (ALECS) program.

Important Note:

Selected candidates without an ACTIVE German/E.U. Work Visa will be required to work the first 60 days in a Temporary role while obtaining their Visa. Once an E.U. Work Visa is approved, then you will be offered a Full-Time German Contract. If accepted, then you will be subjected to paying German taxes, obtaining German Healthcare, and working within the guidelines of the German labor system.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Repairs, rebuilds, or overhauls major assemblies of internal combustion automobiles, buses, trucks or tractors.
• Work involves maintenance and routine repair work on engines, engine accessories, power transmission systems on automobiles, trucks, and construction equipment.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must obtain or already have an active Germany/E.U. Work VISA to be considered.
• Two (2) years of qualified automotive maintenance experience.
• Qualified mechanical experience includes one or more of the following: light or heavy-duty trucks, tractors, tactical vehicles, ground systems, generators, power plants, aircraft or any diesel or gasoline powered equipment or vehicle.
• Knowledge of a variety of hand tools, diagnostic tools, power tools, multi-meters.
• Experience effectively applying industry or military standard troubleshooting procedures to localize and isolate faulty system components.
• Ability to successfully pass a Pre-Employment Drug Screening; must possess a Valid Driver’s License for the location in which the work will be performed, a High School Diploma or GED, and a Passport valid for at least one year beyond the start date.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Willingness to travel to various US or OCONUS locations.
• Experience on HMMWV, FMTV, HEMTT, PLS, Trailers, and Power Generation Equipment.

Clearance Requirements:

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance prior to starting this position
• Applicants hired as local nationals in Germany must have a current favorable LNSP or be eligible to obtain one. Non-German applicants without a current favorable LNSP must have resided in Germany for at least 12 consecutive months to be eligible for LNSP.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to balance, bend, carry, crouch, stretch and kneel.
• Must be able to push, pull, and reach.
• Must be able to work in high noise areas.
• Must be able to lift 50lbs and small parts.
• Must be able to work with computers and CRTs, and type on a computer keyboard
