Job summary

ECARX is seeking an experienced Technical Sales Engineer to drive OEM engagements. You will provide primary technical support in meetings and workshops, translating complex infotainment/ADAS concepts into customer value and coordinating RFIs/RFQs with cross-functional teams.

You will lead demonstrator setup and evolve demo strategies, mentor junior engineers, and ensure alignment between customer requirements and product capabilities in a global, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years of experience in automotive technical roles (Technical Sales Engineer, Application Engineer, etc.) with direct experience working with automotive OEMs.
• Strong hands-on experience with infotainment systems and/or ADAS platforms, including automotive SoCs/ECUs, HMI, sensors, embedded software, Android Automotive OS and AI/LLM.
• Excellent customer-facing communication skills; fluent in English (German and French are a strong plus).
• Entrepreneurial mindset, capable of building processes from scratch, and comfortable working in cross-functional and international environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary technical support for the Automotive Sales team in OEM meetings, workshops and technical reviews, presenting solutions clearly and translating complex concepts into customer value.
• Coordinate and support responses to OEM RFIs/RFQs; collaborate with cross-functional teams to define budgetary technical solutions and assist in cost estimation.
• Lead the setup, maintenance and improvement of hardware and software demonstrators; coordinate with engineering teams to integrate features and support on-site/remote demos.
• Participate in defining and scaling the Technical Sales/BD team; develop best practices for OEM tech engagement, demos and RFI response processes.
• Mentor and onboard future Technical Sales Engineers as the team grows, ensuring competency meets business needs.
• Act as a bridge between OEM customers and internal teams, relay feedback to Product Management and R&D, and align sales opportunities with technical capabilities and long-term strategy.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Automotive Engineering or equivalent.
• 5-10 years of experience in automotive technical roles (Technical Sales Engineer, Application Engineer, etc.) with direct experience working with automotive OEMs (e.g., VW Group, European/global OEMs).
• Strong hands-on experience with infotainment systems and/or ADAS platforms, including automotive SoCs/ECUs, HMI, sensors, embedded software, Android Automotive OS and AI/LLM.
• Proven experience in handling RFIs/RFQs, proof of concepts and customer demonstrations, with solid understanding of vehicle architectures and OEM development processes.
• Excellent customer-facing communication skills, able to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders; fluent in English (German and French are a strong plus).
• Entrepreneurial mindset, capable of building processes from scratch, and comfortable working in cross-functional and international environments.
