• Support the preparation and execution of local tax compliance processes across VAT, Intrastat, EC Sales Lists, and other local taxes.
• Assist in tax-related reporting projects, audits, and requests from tax authorities.
• Prepare and process tax adjustments, corrections, and reconciliations for indirect and direct taxes.
• Calculate and post tax accruals and provisions as part of monthly/annual closings.
• Monitor deadlines and ensure timely tax returns and reports.
• Contribute to standardization of tax processes and controls in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

We are seeking for our Global Business Operations for the next possible date an Associate Tax and Tax Compliance (m/f/d) , a position at KWS Berlin GmbH in Berlin .

The Tax Associate supports the execution of tax compliance and tax-related activities across multiple jurisdictions. Working closely with Tax Compliance Experts, you assist in ensuring compliance with local and international tax regulations, internal policies, and corporate guidelines. You monitor tax developments, stay informed about regulatory changes, and contribute to the continuous improvement of tax processes and controls. In this role, you help ensure accurate and timely tax compliance while collaborating with stakeholders across Finance and other business functions

This position is limited to 2 years and in full-time .

Your tasks:

• Support the preparation and execution of local tax compliance processes, including VAT, Intrastat, EC Sales Lists, property taxes, corporate income tax, recapitulative statements, road and toll taxes, and other local tax obligations
• Support tax-related reporting projects, tax audits, and requests from tax authorities
• Assist in the preparation and processing of tax adjustments, corrections, and reconciliations for indirect and direct taxes
• Calculate, prepare, and post tax accruals and provisions as part of the monthly and annual closing processes
• Monitor tax deadlines and support the timely submission of tax returns and reports
• Contribute to the continuous improvement and standardization of tax processes, controls, and documentation
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external advisors to ensure compliance with applicable tax regulations and company policies

Your profile:

• Preferably academic degree in Taxation, Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
• Primary professional experience in the field of Tax and Compliance, GL experience can be relevant too
• Fluent in English and additional language skills are considered and asset
• Knowledge of VAT compliance, as well as Intrastat & VAT reporting and other local taxes

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured and detail-oriented approach to work

• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain a high level of accuracy in a dynamic environment
• Proactive team player with strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Customer-oriented mindset with a service-driven attitude and a commitment to delivering high-quality results
• Interest in digitalization, automation, and continuous process improvement within the tax and finance environment
• Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, is an advantage
