Zusammenfassung

Tesla Germany GmbH is seeking an Associate Systems Diagnostics Engineer to support residential energy products across Berlin and Amsterdam. You’ll troubleshoot medium-to-high complexity issues, collaborate with engineering and field teams, and work with power electronics and energy systems in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements include a technical degree or 3+ years in technical support, strong Linux and scripting familiarity, and fluency in English and German.

Qualifikationen

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or related technical field or 3+ years in Technical Support Engineering
  • Strong understanding of electrical theory, AC/DC power systems, metering, energy flow, power factor, and phase rotation
  • Experience troubleshooting complex technical issues with multiple variables (metering, communications, distributed generation/storage)
  • Proficiency with Linux command line (SSH, SCP, VI) and quick adaptation to proprietary systems
  • Experience with SQL, Python, or AI tools is beneficial
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to explain complex topics clearly
  • Strong case management discipline: prioritization, thorough documentation, and follow-up
  • Experience with CRM tools and MS Office
  • Fluent in English and German
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams
  • Genuine curiosity for energy products and new technology

Aufgaben

  • Own and resolve technical cases from internal teams via ticketing, email, and live chat
  • Troubleshoot proprietary power electronics systems, metering, and related components
  • Use CLI tools to connect to devices, pull logs, and edit configurations
  • Read and interpret single-line diagrams for PV, storage, load, and meter configurations
  • Handle VIP and corporate escalations with urgency and precision
  • Collaborate with engineering on RCA and issue tracking (JIRA)
  • Document cases thoroughly and identify gaps to improve training/resources
  • Deliver internal and external upskilling/training sessions

Tesla is accelerating the transition to sustainable energy with our industry-leading Residential Energy Products, including Powerwall, Wall Connector, Solar, and the full Residential Energy Ecosystem. These products are already deployed in over 40 countries, with fleets growing exponentially as more partners include them in their projects and installations. The Residential Systems Diagnostics Team uses critical thinking and deep product knowledge to deliver best-in-class, engineer-level support for Tesla’s residential storage and home charging products. As an Associate Systems Diagnostics Engineer, you’ll troubleshoot medium-to-high complexity technical issues, support internal engineering and field teams, and go deep on proprietary power electronics and energy systems. You thrive on challenging edge cases, balance detailed problem-solving with big-picture thinking, and excel in fast-paced, collaborative environments. This role is available in Amsterdam and Berlin.

What You’ll Do
  • Own and resolve technical cases from internal engineering, technical, and field service teams via ticketing, email, and live chat
  • Troubleshoot proprietary power electronics systems, metering, communications, and supporting components
  • Use CLI tools (Linux, SSH, SCP, VI) to connect to devices, pull logs, and edit configurations
  • Read and interpret single-line diagrams for PV, storage, load, and meter configurations
  • Handle VIP and corporate white-glove escalations with urgency and precision
  • Partner with engineering teams on root cause analysis (RCA) and emerging issue tracking (JIRA)
  • Document cases thoroughly and identify process or knowledge gaps to improve training and resources
  • Deliver internal and external upskilling/training sessions
What You’ll Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field, or 3+ years in a Technical Support Engineering role
  • Strong understanding of electrical theory, AC/DC power systems, metering, energy flow, power factor, and phase rotation
  • Experience troubleshooting complex technical issues involving multiple variables (metering, communications, distributed generation/storage preferred)
  • Proficiency with Linux command line (SSH, SCP, VI) and comfort learning proprietary systems quickly
  • Experience with SQL, Python, or AI tools is beneficial
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills – able to explain complex technical topics clearly
  • Strong case management discipline: prioritization, detailed documentation, and follow-up
  • Experience with CRM tools and MS Office
  • Fluent in English and German
