TEKsystems is seeking a contract-based Sourcing & Procurement professional for a hybrid role based in San Diego, CA. You will develop and refine global sourcing strategies across categories, manage relationships with vendors, and lead new product development projects.

The role requires strong communication, multi-tasking, and travel to industry events. The position emphasizes data-driven decision making, supplier performance management, and cost optimization across the supply chain.

• Identify, assess, and recommend new suppliers

• Negotiate with suppliers and collaborate with Private Brand teams
• Research cost, capacity, and delivery history to meet brand standards
• Identify opportunities for cost optimization and margin enhancement across the supply chain
• Identify issues and drive to resolution
• Monitor vendor performance (service, quality, cost)

Description

• Interact professionally and effectively through verbal and written communication with all professional contacts, with emphasis on company interests
• Prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes
• Travel to work with vendors, manufacturers, and to attend appropriate industry trade shows.
• Effectively analyze data to determine the appropriate course of action.
• Participate in the development/refinement, implementation and management of the global sourcing strategy for assigned categories.
• Assume the role of project manager for new product development within assigned categories.
• Continually identify, assess, and recommend new suppliers.
• Analyze bids and other data, and propose actionable recommendations.
• Conduct or participate in the negotiation with suppliers.
• Collaborate with Private Brand cross-functional team to optimize sourcing effectiveness.
• Research and analyze the cost, capacity, and delivery history of manufacturers; ensure manufacturers can deliver product that meets the specifications and quality of the brand image.
• Continually search for and identify opportunities for cost optimization and margin enhancement throughout the supply chain.
• Identify and communicate issues to appropriate parties and bring them to resolution.
• Manage the ongoing vendors' performance, including Service, Quality & Cost
• Monitor the cost & availability trends of key cost factors and recommend course of action (raw & packaging materials, labor, crude oil, etc.)
• Perform other related tasks and responsibilities as required, assigned, and directed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Strong communication 2-3 exp in sourcing prefer, at least merchandise exp, organized analytical, data analysis, excel

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $42.55 - $42.55/hr.
