Assistant Restaurant Manager
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as an assistant restaurant manager or as a senior waiter
- Experience working in 4* or 5* operations (hotel or cruise ships)
- Highly proficient in spoken and written English
- Computer skills – MS Office
- Experience in ordering and inventory management
- Strong leadership skills
- Self‑organized, disciplined and reliable
- Stress tolerant
- Familiar with a multicultural working environment
- Outgoing personality
- Able to conduct trainings
Role and Responsibilities
- Relieve the restaurant manager during any period of absence
- Provide professional and courteous service within the department
- Assist in daily operations and station service when required
- Support the Restaurant Manager with training sessions
- Evaluate the restaurant team regularly and provide feedback, including disciplinary actions when needed
- Maintain knowledge of the food and beverage menu
- Ensure proper stock handling and strive to meet cost targets
- Keep a record of breakage and damage, monitor costs and report to the restaurant manager regularly
- Acknowledge guest complaints and report them to the restaurant manager
- Maintain cleanliness in accordance with HACCP regulations
- Observe slow‑running stock items and manage expiration control of restaurant products
- Assist with monthly inventories and purchase orders
- Ensure correct handling of all equipment and machinery
- Duly report any potential safety hazards
Side Tasks
- Assist other departments as per supervisor's instructions
- Perform other duties when instructed, e.g. luggage service, loading, and garbage off‑loading
- Participate in all safety drills and ensure solid knowledge of designated Safety role
