Applications Engineers in Power Management IC's at Texas Instruments (TI) are a highly-motivated, synergistic group with great team spirit and a strong commitment to the customer as a technical expert. In this role, you will provide technical solutions to customers that will ultimately go into consumer products like smartphones, PC peripherals, personal medical devices, electric cars, e-bikes and much more. You'll also provide technical support and engage with customers to help define new products and opportunities for future product development. Our applications engineers engage with customers both virtually and in person to help and solve their toughest technical challenges. They understand customer's needs, develop end equipment expertise, help to define our products and be part of what's next! You will work in the applications team of a DC/DC Buck Converter & Controller Product Line to gain a deep understanding of specific products within the business unit - how to position them, typical problems/barriers, how to test/debug and how to solve customer problems at a system level hat focus on ease-of-use and add value to their solution. These experiences are hands-on, technical problem-solving focused with the goal of helping you to create compelling solutions and win business for TI.

As an Applications Engineer, you will also get exposure to other roles such as: Design, Systems and Field Application Engineering,Product Marketing,Digital Marketing and Project Management through formal learning, projects and on-the-job development experiences that will help you broaden your knowledge and accelerate your growth and success at TI.

Beside this in your first year with TI, you will participate in the Career Accelerator Program (CAP), which provides professional and technical training and resources to accelerate your ramp into TI and set you up for long-term career success. Within this program, we also offer function-specific technical training and on-the-job learning opportunities that will encourage you to solve problems through a variety of hands-on, meaningful experiences from your very first day on the job.

Some of your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Schematic and PCB design of analog circuits
  • Assembly and test of electronic circuits
  • Design, setup and debugging of test circuits for DC-DC converters & Controllers

Qualifications
  • Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Technology, Bio-Medical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical and Computer Engineering or related field
Preferred qualifications
  • Knowledge and understanding of power electronics (examples include: DC/DC power, data converters, op-amps, sensing, etc.)
  • Understanding of schematics, layouts and BOM ( including passive selection )
  • Experience in Spice simulation
  • Experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, along with soldering and debugging skills
  • Open to travel and visit customers when it is needed
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, German is good to have!
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Strong time management skills that enable on-time project delivery
  • Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions
  • Ability to build lasting, influential relationships, both inside and outside the organization
