Job summary

Agilent Technologies, Inc. is seeking a seasoned Engineering Manager to lead the Chromatography & Mass Spectrometry pre-sales application specialist team in Europe.

You will collaborate with Sales to develop workflows, demonstrate instruments, and address analytical needs for customers across served markets. The role requires leadership experience, expertise in chromatography and MS, and strong presentation and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or PhD with a strong focus on instrumental analysis.
• Proven track record of managing sales projects and driving market growth.
• Detailed knowledge of key chromatography and mass spectrometry technologies.
• Demonstrated experience in application development and commercialization in this field.
• Excellent presentation, communication (written & oral), and customer-facing skills.
• Willingness to travel (throughout Europe) up to 25%.
• Proficient verbal & written English and German skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the team of Application Scientists in chromatography and mass spectrometry to develop workflows and solutions for customers.
• Hire and develop a diverse and highly skilled team of Application Specialists.
• Maintain and develop the capability of demo centers.
• Establish metrics and KPIs for the team and improve processes for scalability and efficiency.
• Leverage digital tools to enhance customer interactions and experiences.

You will work closely with the Sales Team to support the sales process by developing applications as well as demonstrating our instrumentation & workflows to customers, addressing their analytical needs according to the market situation.The European group of application scientists is spread over four different Centers of Excellence across Europe. Proficient, with several years’ experience in an Agilent or competitor environment.* A proven track record of managing sales projects and driving market growth.* Detailed knowledge of key chromatography and mass spectrometry technologies is a must. Demonstrated experience in application development and commercialization in this field.* Excellent presentation, communication (written & oral), and customer-facing skills.* Willingness to travel (throughout Europe) up to 25% of the time.* Proficient verbal & written English and German skills.
