A leading research institution in Munich is seeking a trainee in Analog IC Design. You will gain hands-on experience in RF ASIC design, working under experienced engineers. The role requires a Master's degree in electrical engineering or related fields and knowledge of electronic circuit theory. Join a collaborative environment and grow your expertise in semiconductor design while enjoying support for your personal goals and work-life balance.
The Fraunhofer Research Institution for Microsystems and Solid State Technologies EMFT, with currently almost 190 employees at its sites in Munich (headquarters), Oberpfaffenhofen and Regensburg, conducts cutting‑edge applied research on sensors and actuators for people and the environment. The competences are based on impressive long‑term experience and extensive know‑how in the fields of microelectronics and microsystem technology. These nano‑and microtechnologies are the basis for the other competence areas at Fraunhofer EMFT: sensor solutions, safe and secure electronics, and micropumps. The interdisciplinary interaction of these competencies enables the development of truly novel solutions, putting Fraunhofer EMFT in an ideal position for tackling the current challenges of our society.
In the department "Integrated Circuits and Systems" at Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits we develop customized solutions in the field of “Integrated Circuits and Systems” with the focus on mixed‑signal ASIC design for industrial, communications and automotive applications as well as on design solutions for increasingly complex electronic systems. Within the RFIC design group, we create application‑specific integrated RF‑IPs and ASICs in the frequency range up to 30 GHz. These circuits are fabricated in cooperation with commercial semiconductor vendors, using state‑of‑the‑art silicon CMOS down to 22 nm as well as SiGe BiCMOS technologies.
As a trainee in our Analog IC Design program, you will participate in a comprehensive introduction to Analog IC Design and RFIC Design, collaborating on real projects under the guidance of experienced engineers. You'll gain hands‑on experience in RF ASIC design, simulation, layout, and verification of analog integrated circuits, focusing on optimizing circuits for performance and minimizing power consumption. Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to collaborate with other teams such as system design, test engineering, and digital design, fostering a collaborative work environment and gaining exposure to various aspects of semiconductor design.
