Zusammenfassung

The Exploration Company is seeking an AIT Test Engineer to help integrate NYX, our modular orbital vehicle. You will lead dynamic and thermal test campaigns for multiple sub-systems and prototypes, and document activities from planning through post-test reviews.

You will craft procedures, coordinate in-house and external tests, procure instrumentation, and work closely with AIT engineers, MGSE, and stakeholders to resolve anomalies and improve test processes.

Qualifikationen

• Engineering degree (Master or PhD) in mechanical science, instrumentation/test or equivalent.
• Experience in the AIT of aerospace vehicles.
• Prior experience with Vibration Tables, Thermal Chambers or similar equipment is a plus.
• Mechanical skills with electrical/digital and electromechanical knowledge would be appreciated.

Aufgaben

• Prepare, execute and manage internal/external dynamic testing of sub-systems and prototypes.
• Prepare, execute and manage thermal testing (cycling, TVAC) of sub-systems and prototypes.
• Write documentation before and after integration and test activities.
• Conduct other testing activities in AIT domain (parachute, EMC, mechanisms, Structural Test Model).
• Support mechanical integration activities needed on Nyx Capsule.
• Manage testing activities from requirements definition to post-test reviews.
• Write, review and execute procedures for setups (Epsilon3, ODOO, Team Center).
• Execute tests with in-house equipment and at external facilities.
• Procure or rent instrumentation and install on test items.
• Interact with AIT engineers, technicians and external stakeholders.
• Contribute to anomaly resolutions and post-test reports.
• Support qualification plans of new processes (welding, fittings).
• Assist with procurement of equipment (GSE).
• Collaborate with MGSE on machined parts/tools.

Here at The Exploration Company, we are building innovative aerospace technologies that advance the future of space transportation.

We are developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle that can eventually be refueled in orbit, and which carries cargo - and potentially humans in the longer run.

We want you as a talented AIT Test Engineer to help us in our mission by making sure that NYX can be integrated.

You will be successful in this role if you are able to help us:

• Prepare, execute and manage the internal or external dynamic testing (vibration test, shock tests,...) of several sub-systems (electronic, fittings, weldings...) and internally developed prototypes

• Prepare, execute and manage the internal or external thermal testing (cycling, TVAC...) of several sub-systems and internally developed prototypes

• Write documentation prior and post integration and test activities

• Prepare, execute and manage other testing activities in AIT domain (e.g.: parachute, EMC, mechanisms, Structural Test Model...)

• Support mechanical integration activities needed on Nyx Capsule

Key Responsibilities

• You will manage the testing activities from definition of requirements to post-test reviews

• You will be responsible of writing, reviewing and executing procedures detailing the setups for integration and tests (in Epsilon3, ODOO, Team Center)

• You will be responsible for the execution of the tests performed in-house with internal equipment (vibration test bench, thermal vacuum chamber, shock test rig, ...)

• You will be responsible for the execution of the tests performed in external facilities

• You will be responsible of the procurement (or rental) of instrumentation and its installation on the items to test

• You will be expected to interact with other AIT engineers and technicians but also with external stakeholders

• You will be largely involved in the resolutions of anomalies happening during the integration and tests

• You will manage the reports to be done at the end of the operations/tests

• You will give your feedback and report on any blockage or problem during the testing and will work to propose improvements and fixes

• You will be asked to support the qualification plans of new processes within AIT (welding, fittings...)

• You will be supporting the Purchase of all the equipment (COTS or not) needed to run the testing activities (Tools, generic GSE)

• You will working with AIT technicians and MGSE team to define needs of machined parts and/or tools (proposing design, follow up with MGSE team)

Additional Requirements

• Versatile, in order to support several activities depending on the workload

• Being able to manage several topics at the same time (preparation of next tests and execution in parallel)

• Proficient in following safety standards and maintaining quality control during all assembly and test operations.
