Here at The Exploration Company, we are developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle that can eventually be refuelled in orbit and that can carry cargo - and potentially humans in the longer run.

We want you as a talented AIT mechanical Engineer to help us in our mission by making sure that NYX can be integrated.

You will be successful in this role if you are able to help us:

  • Prepare, execute and manage the mechanical integration and tests of our space vehicles
  • Write documentation prior and post integration and test activities
  • Support other disciplines in the above activities (propulsion, thermal, thermal protection, avionic & power units)

Primary Responsibilities:

  • You will manage the writing of the procedures detailing the assembly and mechanical setups for integration and tests (in Epsilon3, ODOO, Team Center)
  • You will be responsible for the execution of these operations, and we expect you to interact with other AIT engineers and technicians
  • You will be largely involved in the resolutions of anomalies happening during the integration and tests
  • You will manage the reports to be done at the end of the operations/tests
  • You will be potentially responsible of an in-house vibration test bench (collect needs, write documentation, perform tests, write reports, etc...)
  • You will give your feedback and report on any blockage or problem during the AIT and will work to propose improvements and fixes
  • You will be asked to support the qualification plans of new processes within AIT (welding, cleaning, thermal protection bonding, etc...)
  • You will be supporting the Purchase of all the equipment (COTS or not) needed to run the assembling activities (Tools, generic GSE)
  • You will working with AIT technicians and MGSE team to define needs of machined parts and/or tools

Additional Requirements:

  • Versatile, in order to support several activities depending on the workload (welding and assembly tasks for Propulsion AIT, including occasional handling of specialized instruments and tooling)
  • Proficient in following safety standards and maintaining quality control during all assembly and test operations.

Qualifications and experience

  • Engineering degree (Master or PhD) in mechanical science or equivalent
  • Experience in the AIT of aerospace vehicles
