Allianz Direct is hiring an AI Solution Designer to rethink how generative AI and large language models can transform customer service and insurance processes. You will design global AI blueprints, replacing legacy rules with scalable AI architectures and work with cross-functional teams across Europe.

You will translate complex business requirements into precise specifications and visual logic flows for development, while prioritising customer-centric, compliant and cost-efficient AI solutions.

Formación

• Degree in Computational Linguistics, CS, Data Science or AI/ML engineering.
• Multiple years of experience in AI solution design, NLP or conversational AI.
• Ability to model complex data structures and translate into visual specs.
• Strong agile experience, ideally in international contexts.
• Insurance/financial services experience is a plus.
• English fluent; German is a strong plus; other languages desirable.

Job Summary

As AI Solution Designer in our pan-European Conversational AI (C.AI) team, you play a key role in fundamentally rethinking how generative AI and Large Language Models can transform the way Allianz Direct serves its customers. You design and architect global AI solution blueprints, with a strong focus on replacing legacy rule-based logic with intelligent, cost-efficient AI architectures.

In a cross-functional scrum team, you translate complex business requirements into precise functional specifications and visual logic flows that serve as the direct engineering blueprint for development teams. You work closely with operational units, tribe leads, and development teams to prioritise use cases, ensure robust technical implementation, and continuously improve the quality and impact of our AI solutions - always combining strong technical understanding with a customer-first perspective.

Key Responsibilities

AI Solution Design & Conceptualisation

• Design global conversational AI and LLM solution blueprints that are modular, scalable, and deliver intuitive customer experiences.
• Translate business requirements into functional specifications and visual logic flows for development teams.
• Identify technical requirements and drive the long-term product vision for AI-powered P&C insurance services.

Process Transformation

• Rethink and redesign enterprise processes using generative AI, moving away from legacy rule-based logic.
• Balance cost-efficiency with quality and compliance in a regulated environment.

Knowledge Engineering

• Design structured knowledge bases and RAG infrastructures to make the organisation's data assets "AI-ready" and turn unpredictable AI tasks into reliable, cost-efficient solutions.

AI Governance, Monitoring & Analytics

• Develop frameworks for monitoring and optimising productive GenAI systems - including defining the right KPIs, tests, alerts, and simulation approaches to continuously measure and improve system performance, quality, and compliance.

Collaboration & Delivery

• Coordinate with operational units to understand processes, pain points, and automation potential.
• Align with development teams across countries to ensure coherent implementation and rollout.
• Stay up to date on AI, LLM, NLP, and Human-AI Interaction developments and bring new ideas into the team.

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Degree in Computational Linguistics, Computer Science, Data Science, AI/ML Engineering, or comparable fields.
• Multiple years of experience in AI solution design, technical requirements engineering, conversational AI or NLP.
• Ability to think in complex data structures (SQL, semantic networks, knowledge graphs) and translate them into clear visual representations.
• Strong familiarity with agile methodologies (e.g. Scrum), preferably in an international context.
• Experience in insurance or financial services is a plus.
• Fluent in English; German is a strong plus. Additional languages (Spanish, Italian, Dutch, French) are desirable.

Technical Skills

• Deep conceptual knowledge of LLMs, vector spaces, embeddings, and NLU/NLG frameworks.
• Solid knowledge of NLP concepts such as language understanding, speech recognition/synthesis, semantic models, and language model mechanisms.
• Understanding of RAG architectures, knowledge base design, and data pipeline concepts.
• Solid prompting skills and hands-on experience with generative AI technologies.
• Background / experience in Linguistics, Computational Linguistics, or Conversational UX Design is a plus.
• Familiarity with low-code conversational AI platforms (e.g. Cognigy or similar) is a plus.
• Experience with analytics tools (e.g. Power BI, Cognigy Insights) and testing frameworks is a plus.
