Job summary

Mercor seeks an AI Safety Expert to assess and harden AI systems in collaboration with leading research labs. This contract role is remote and requires fluency in English and Swedish.

You will red-team conversational AI models, document findings, and contribute to risk analysis using structured playbooks.

Experience in adversarial ML or cybersecurity is preferred, with strong communication to explain risks to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Red team conversational AI models and agents, exploring jailbreaks, prompt injections, misuse cases, and bias exploitation.
• Generate high-quality human data, annotate failures, classify vulnerabilities, and flag systemic risks.
• Apply structure using taxonomies, benchmarks, and playbooks to maintain testing consistency.
• Document reproducibly by producing reports, datasets, and attack cases for customer action.
• Work independently and asynchronously to meet deadlines while improving AI model performance.

Position: AI Safety Experts — English & Swedish Type: Contract Compensation: $48–$62/hour Location: Remote
