Recare Deutschland GmbH sucht eine/n AI/ML Engineer (m/w/d), um fortschrittliche agentische KI-Anwendungen in einer produktionsnahen Umgebung zu entwickeln und zu betreiben. Sie arbeiten an sicheren, skalierbaren Systemen zum Schutz sensibler Gesundheitsdaten und gestalten die Implementierung von KI-Lösungen mit.

Sie arbeiten eng mit dem AI-Team zusammen, nutzen Python, Go und AWS, und tragen zur Verbesserung der Gesundheitsversorgung bei – in einer remote-freundlichen, flexiblen Arbeitsumgebung.

Qualifikationen

• Erfahrung im Entwerfen, Erstellen und Bereitstellen leistungsstarker generativer KI-Anwendungen (RAG, Agents) in produktiven Umgebungen.
• Sicherstellung von Sicherheit und Privatsphäre bei KI-Lösungen (PII, GDPR) in hochregulierten Umgebungen.
• Starke Programmierkenntnisse und Verständnis für das komplette Tech-Stack (Python, Go, GitHub Actions, AWS).

Aufgaben

• Aufbau robuster Agentik-Anwendungen und Generative-AI-Lösungen unter Berücksichtigung von Stabilität und Skalierbarkeit.
• Bereitstellung und Integration von KI-Diensten über REST-APIs oder Web-UIs, einschließlich Containerisierung und Orchestrierung.
• Überwachung von Generative-AI-Systemen (Logging, Tracing, Metrics, Dashboards, Prompt-Management).
• Evaluation der Leistung von Agentik-Systemen anhand Messdaten und Nutzer-Feedback.
• Sicherstellung der Einhaltung von Sicherheits- und Datenschutzvorgaben im Gesundheitskontext.
• Technologische Weiterentwicklung und Dokumentation aktueller AI/ML-Technologien in praktikable Implementierungen.

In this role, you can make an impact and grow with us as AI / ML Engineer (m/w/d):

As a core member of the AI team, you will work on building cutting-edge agentic systems that work reliably in production environments where privacy and correctness are top priorities. You will have ownership of a small set of projects (ideally one) since we believe that minimizing context switches and enabling engineers to focus continuously is fundamental to building great applications.

Our team is small but growing fast; we are highly independent and hold ourselves accountable for the quality of our work. Technical excellence is expected, but our ideal colleague shares our passion for building impactful solutions that bridge the gap between research and systems currently used in production. • Agentic Applications: Build robust chat and other generative AI applications leveraging agentic frameworks. You will be responsible for designing and optimizing core agent behavior, including routing, tool calls/responses, context management, grounding, and instruction-following.

• Deployment and Integration: Develop and maintain infrastructure for deploying AI agents and generative AI applications for use in, e.g., REST APIs or web UIs, including containerization, orchestration, and API development.

• GenAI Observability: Set up and optimize generative AI observability pipelines, including logging, tracing, metrics, dashboards, and prompt management.

• Performance Evaluation: Quantify the real value of agentic systems based on observability data, custom evaluation metrics, and user feedback.

• Safeguarding Health Data: Embed security best practices and uphold compliance to protect sensitive health information.

• State-of-the-Art Technology & Implementation: Stay up to date with cutting-edge AI technologies, and translate them into technical reports, papers, and production-ready implementations.

Here’s how we picture you as our AI / ML Engineer (m/w/d):

• You are passionate about healthcare or other important but difficult-to-disrupt industries; you are motivated by the possibility of making a meaningful contribution in highly regulated, high-stakes environments.

• You have proven experience in designing, building, and deploying high-performance generative AI applications (RAG, Agents) in live production environments.

• You have strong coding abilities and are comfortable working across the stack (for context, ours includes Python, Go, GitHub Actions, and AWS, among other technologies), including reading, understanding, and fixing issues outside of the main codebase.

• You have experience working in environments where security and privacy are top priorities, including work with personally identifiable information (PII) redaction, LLM guardrails and GDPR compliance.

• You have solid experience with deep learning and applying AI or ML models to solve real-world problems, with a focus on system-level integration rather than solely model training.

• You are proficient in Python and at least one related web framework (FastAPI, Django, Flask...).

• You possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to articulate complex concepts to diverse audiences.
