Job summary

ALTEN is seeking an AI-driven engineering transformation professional in Germany/Bayern to analyze processes, identify AI use cases, and build agent-based solutions for faster software and hardware development.

You will drive governance concepts, create reusable AI workflows, and support integration into toolchains, while collaborating with global teams. English proficiency is required; German is a plus.

Qualifications

• completed studies in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, AI or comparable field
• professional experience in software development, AI consulting, AI transformation or engineering process optimization
• strong knowledge of Generative AI technologies, AI agents and modern AI-assisted development approaches
• hands-on experience with Microsoft Copilot and GitHub Copilot in professional environments
• familiar with Azure AI Services, Azure AI Foundry and cloud-based AI solutions
• experience designing and implementing AI agent frameworks and agent-based architectures
• understand Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures and knowledge management concepts
• proficient in Python and working knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript and SQL
• experience with Azure DevOps, Jira, Git and modern CI/CD toolchains
• communicate confidently in English; German language skills are considered a plus

Responsibilities

• analyze current engineering and software development processes to identify opportunities for AI-driven improvements
• identify, evaluate and prioritize AI use cases within software and engineering teams
• design, develop and implement AI agents to optimize engineering workflows and development activities
• define scalable agent-based frameworks including human review, approval and governance mechanisms
• develop reusable AI workflows, templates, prompt libraries and best practices for engineering organizations
• support the integration of AI capabilities into existing software and hardware development toolchains
• collaborate with development teams to establish efficient AI-supported engineering processes
• conduct workshops, coaching sessions and knowledge transfer activities to enable successful AI adoption
• support pilot projects and proof-of-concept initiatives for AI-enabled engineering solutions
• establish governance, compliance and quality assurance concepts for AI-generated outputs
• work closely with stakeholders to drive organizational change and increase AI maturity within development environments
