METRO.digital seeks an AI Consultant to bridge business and technology, driving adoption of AI and automation across our organization. You will translate AI strategy into actionable requirements, engage stakeholders, and guide implementation with data-driven ROI.

You will collaborate with Research, Tech, and Business teams to design data-driven solutions, ensuring alignment with METRO’s AI priorities and platform standards. This hybrid, agile role shapes the future of wholesale tech.

How you will make an impact?

We are looking for a AI Consultant to serve as a strategic bridge between business and technology, driving the adoption and successful integration of AI and automation solutions across our organization. In this role, you will act as the key translator between AI & Automation strategy and business needs, ensuring that solutions are aligned with METRO’s overall vision. You will engage with stakeholders to identify, assess, and prioritize high-impact AI and automation use cases using data-driven ROI metrics and consult them to unlock the potential of AI and automation.

Develop clear requirements, user stories, and value cases that adhere to AI Platform standards and strategic priorities. Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including Research, Tech, and Business—to design user-centric, data-driven solutions and guide their implementation.

This position offers a dynamic opportunity to shape the future of wholesale by leveraging your expertise to deliver measurable business value through intelligent automation.

Your Responsibilities:

• Being the translator of AI & Automation Strategy to business and back to the AIA Platform and consult the organization to unlock the potential of AI & Automation;
• Engage with business stakeholders to identify and prioritize potential AI and Automation use cases based on ROI metrics;
• Facilitate workshops, interviews, and data-driven assessments across METRO organization, to define value propositions and feasibility for the use cases;
• Translate business needs into actionable requirements, user stories, and value cases aligned with platform standards;
• Ensure alignment of identified opportunities with strategic AI themes and portfolio priorities in line with AI Strategy;
• Partner the Squad Lead on roadmap planning, backlog prioritization, and sprint readiness; support agile delivery and stakeholder management;
• Partner with AIA Platform leadership team, to ensure consistency from ideation to benefit tracking.
• Support KPI definition, value measurement, and quarterly reporting (QBRs);
• Act as a local AI ambassador within the squad’s domain, promoting adoption and responsible use of AI solutions;
• Support rollout, training, and communication of new AI and automation products.

Required key competencies and qualifications:

• Subject Matter Expertise: Understands well its area of responsibility (AI & Automation), all related systems, processes and products;
• Discovery: Conducts qualitative and quantitative research with the support of the Research team. Applies the right methodologies to find out relevant information about the user and their problems and needs;
• Data Driven Decision making: Number driven business opportunities identification, be able to set up value measurement concepts and interpret results from econometrically point of view;
• Consultancy: Understands the demands of the internal client, selects and explains the right solution. With the proactive behavior, being always a helping hand to solve with cutting-edge technology and bring new ideas to the stakeholder: One more thing mindset;
• Business Requirements Analysis: Analyses the business requirements and transforms them into AI & Automation opportunities;
• Communication: Conveys or shares ideas, feelings and information effectively using the most appropriate methods, tools and channels for the respective audience. Good verbal, written and inter-personal communication skills. Very good fluency in English (written and verbal);
• Process Architecture: Understands the big picture of AI & Automation product portfolio, how it first in METRO´s solution landscape and knows how it supports METRO's strategy, objectives and their measurement.
