- Instruct and facilitate meaningful learning of course outcomes in the Psychology curriculum
- Support all facets of the learning environment and promote student involvement
- Provide learning-centered instruction aligned with South University curricula and delivery model
- Design instructional plans and activities to meet course outcomes and lesson objectives
- Deliver approved instruction within online course shells when applicable
- Use technology in the classroom to support student learning
- Establish student performance criteria and evaluate learning and achievement outcomes
- Plan and prepare classes to promote student success
- Maintain accurate records and submit grades and reports on time
- Enforce academic and attendance policies
- Relate professional, life, and industry experience to learning and remain aware of industry trends
- Participate in faculty development, curriculum and system task forces, campus events, workshops, and meetings
- Communicate with supervisors, faculty, and South University administrators
Requirements
- Doctor's or master's degree in the teaching discipline for undergraduate Psychology courses, or master's degree with a concentration in Psychology and a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline
- Earned doctorate/terminal degree in the teaching discipline or a related discipline for graduate and post-baccalaureate coursework
- Experience in instruction or a formalized education process, preferably in a post-secondary or college institution
- Active, valid, and unencumbered state licensure or certification as applicable to the discipline
- Ability to physically work in the United States while performing all responsibilities
- Access to a personal computer, Internet connection, and telephone connection
- Ability to hold required office hours and respond to student and administration questions within required response times
- Ability to complete New Faculty Orientation and other assigned/required training
- Willingness to work in an accelerated learning format, working online with students five of seven days per online week
- Willingness to attend required meetings
- Professional association membership tied to the area of instruction preferred
- At least six months of teaching experience at South University or another post-secondary education institution preferred; online experience a plus for online-only roles
