Shine is recruiting an Accounting & Tax Expert for Germany, based in Berlin. You will support tax advisors, deliver premium guidance, and resolve complex questions while training colleagues and developing self-service resources.

The role partners with Product to refine accounting features, ensuring clear, practical advice for customers and tax professionals. Shine emphasizes ownership, impact, and innovation in a dynamic fintech environment.

Qualifikationen

• Solid experience in bookkeeping, accounting, tax consulting, or a related field.
• Experience in customer support or consulting is a strong plus.
• Native-level German (C2) and strong English for internal communication.

Your Role as an Accounting & Tax Expert, Germany

What You’ll Do

• Support Tax Advisors and Their Use of the Tax Advisor Tool: Provide expert support to tax advisors who use our tax advisor platform to support and advise their clients. Help them resolve accounting and tax-related questions, navigate the tool effectively, and make the most of its features and workflows..
• Deliver Premium Expert Support: Organize and conduct expert appointments as part of our Premium Service, ensuring customers receive reliable, practical, and high-quality guidance..
• Resolve Complex Accounting Questions: Take ownership of complex accounting and bookkeeping inquiries from our customers and provide clear, accurate, and actionable solutions..
• Enable Internal Teams: Support and train colleagues on accounting-related topics, helping them build confidence in handling customer questions and identifying when specialist support is needed..
• Build Helpful Resources: Actively contribute to all customer support and self-service initiatives, including our knowledge base, FAQs, internal documentation, and other educational resources..
• Improve the Customer Experience: Identify recurring questions and pain points, turn them into scalable solutions, and help make accounting and tax topics easier to understand for our customers..
• Partner with Product: Act as a sparring partner for the Product team on accounting and tax-related topics, providing expert feedback to improve existing features and shape the future development of our product..

About you

• Experience: Solid experience in bookkeeping, accounting, tax consulting, or a related field. Experience in customer support, customer success, consulting, or another service-oriented role is a strong plus.
• Accounting & Tax Expertise: Strong knowledge of German bookkeeping and accounting principles, with the ability to apply this knowledge to practical customer cases. Experience working with tax advisors, accounting firms, or self-employed professionals is highly desirable.
• Customer Focus: Genuine passion for helping people and the ability to provide clear, empathetic, and solution-oriented support—even when dealing with complex or sensitive accounting questions.
• Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex accounting and tax topics in a simple, structured, and easy-to-understand way to customers, tax advisors, and internal teams.
• Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to understand complex accounting cases, identify the relevant issues, develop practical solutions, and take ownership of customer inquiries through to resolution.
• Product Mindset: Interested in digital products and motivated to work closely with Product teams to provide expert feedback and help improve accounting-related features and workflows.
• Tech & Tools: Comfortable working with digital platforms and quick to learn new tools. Experience with accounting software, tax advisor platforms, or customer support tools such as Zendesk or Intercom is a plus.
• Languages: Native-level (or C2) German is required, along with solid English skills for internal team communication.
