Aufgaben

• Oversee daily accounting operations, monthly closing, and tax filing activities including VAT and corporate tax.
• Analyse P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow data and provide financial reports and recommendations to management.
• Prepare and monitor budgets, manage cash flow, and propose necessary improvements.
• Implement and optimise ERP systems, internal controls, and accounting processes.
• Lead, train, and support the accounting team to ensure effective operations and development.
• Ensure compliance with German accounting standards, tax regulations, and relevant financial requirements.

A global Japanese trading company is currently recruiting an Accounting Manager to join its team near Frankfurt, Germany.

The Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing accounting operations, financial reporting, tax compliance, budgeting, and cash flow management. The role will work closely with senior management to strengthen financial processes, internal controls, and business decision-making.

The ideal candidate should have accounting management experience, strong leadership skills, and fluent German with business-level English and Japanese communication skills.

Main Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations, monthly closing, and tax filing activities including VAT and corporate tax
• Analyse P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow data and provide financial reports and recommendations to management

Ideal Candidate

• 3+ years’ experience in accounting or finance management, preferably within a multinational environment
• Fluent German and business level of fluency in English
• Understanding of Japanese language and culture will be advantageous
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Experience with ERP systems such as DATEV
• Knowledge of financial reporting under German GAAP and IFRS
• Strong analytical skills with experience in financial reporting and budgeting
• Ability to work closely with senior management and provide proactive recommendations

Conditions

• Job Type: one-year fixed-term contract with potential for extension or permanent employment
• Working Hours: 9:00-18:00 from Monday to Friday
