Qualifikationen

• Strong technical knowledge of accounting and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience with Percentage-of-Completion method is advantageous.
• Accounting qualification (e.g. auditor or equivalent) is advantageous.
• Experience with MS Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations is advantageous.

Aufgaben

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes to ensure accuracy and timely reporting.
• Manage daily accounting operations including invoicing, payments, and financial transactions.
• Maintain accounting records and ensure compliance with GoB and IFRS requirements.
• Manage tax-related activities including corporate tax, VAT, and excise tax compliance.
• Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisers.
• Improve accounting processes, internal controls, and financial systems.
• Establish and maintain financial policies and procedures.
• Monitor balance sheet reconciliations and review profit and loss statements.
• Support budget planning, forecasting, and long-term business planning activities.
• Collaborate with FP&A, finance, and legal teams on transfer pricing and intercompany reporting.
• Provide financial analysis and advice to support business decisions.

An international company is currently recruiting an Accounting Manager to join its Düsseldorf office.

The Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing financial operations, managing accounting activities, supporting financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with German accounting standards and IFRS. The role will also involve leading the accounting team, supporting budgeting processes, and providing financial insights to support strategic business decisions.

The ideal candidate should have strong accounting experience in Germany, management reporting experience, and fluent German and English communication skills.

Main Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes to ensure accuracy and timely reporting
• Manage daily accounting operations including invoicing, payments, and financial transactions
• Maintain accounting records and ensure compliance with German accounting principles (GoB) and IFRS requirements
• Manage tax-related activities including corporate tax, VAT, and excise tax compliance

Conditions

• Location: Düsseldorf, Germany (with occasional travel within Germany or nearby European countries)
• Working Style: hybrid working available
• Salary: €100,000 + per annum depending on experience (including 13th salary)
• Working Hours: flexible working hours (core hours: 11:00-15:00)
