Ergobaby Europe GmbH in Hamburg is seeking a detail-oriented Accountant (m/w/d) to join the Finance team. The role oversees daily accounting operations, ensures compliance with HGB and German VAT, and supports a wide range of financial processes.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver accurate, timely financial reporting. The position offers a hybrid model with three fixed in-office days (Tuesday–Thursday) and flexibility to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• At least 3 years of hands-on accounting across GL, AP, AR, tax and audits.
• Strong knowledge of HGB and German VAT regulations.
• ERP experience with Epicor, NetSuite or SAP preferred.
• Proficient using MS Office, especially Excel.
• Fluent in German and English.

• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes with journal entries and accruals.
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
• Ensure VAT compliance and local tax reporting.

You will collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams and contribute to accurate, timely financial reporting.

Our hybrid working model includes three fixed in‑office days (Tuesday–Thursday) to support collaboration, with remote work flexibility on Mondays and Fridays.

Responsibilities

• Manage and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including journal entries and accruals.
• Support accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) activities.
• Ensure compliance with VAT and local tax requirements.
• Support statutory reporting and act as a key contact for internal and external audits.
• Maintain strong internal controls and ensure financial data integrity.
• Collaborate with Sales, Operations, and other teams to resolve discrepancies and improve processes.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• At least 3 years of professional hands‑on accounting experience across GL, AP, AR, tax, and audit, ideally in a multi‑currency or multi‑entity environment
• Solid knowledge of HGB and German VAT regulations
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Epicor, NetSuite, SAP) preferred
• Confident working with standard accounting tools and MS Office, including excellent Excel skills
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting
• Must speak German and English
