Job summary

IT-Systemhaus der Bundesagentur für Arbeit in Stuttgart sucht einen Senior Accountant & Finance Operations (m/w/d) zur Unterstützung und Eigenverantwortung der Buchhaltungsaktivitäten für die deutsche Einheit. Sie werden auch Finanzoperationen über die USA und die VAE hinweg unterstützen.

Der ideale Kandidat hat 5–8 Jahre Erfahrung, einen Abschluss in Finanzwesen oder Buchhaltung sowie starke Kenntnisse der deutschen Rechnungslegungsstandards. Ein dynamisches und kooperatives Arbeitsumfeld sowie die Möglichkeit zur beruflichen Weiterentwicklung werden angeboten.

Qualifications

Senior Accountant & Finance Operations (m/w/d)

What You’ll Do

Accounting & Financial Operations

• Own and support day-to-day accounting activities primarily for the German entity while supporting finance operations across the US and UAE
• Manage journal entries, transaction postings, bank and supplier reconciliations, supplier invoice processing, and payment runs in Germany
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities under German accounting standards
• Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation in compliance with German tax and statutory requirements
• Coordinate with external accounting firms, tax advisors, payroll providers, and auditors
• Support vendor onboarding, expense management, and finance administration

Reporting & Forecasting

• Assist in the preparation of financial and management reports for the German entity
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow tracking
• Assist with variance analysis and financial reporting

Process Improvement & Finance Operations

• Improve and standardize finance processes and internal controls
• Support ERP, reporting, and finance system optimization
• Contribute to automation and continuous improvement initiatives
• Collaborate cross-functionally on finance and operational projects

Compliance & Governance

• Support VAT, tax, statutory reporting, and compliance activities
• Provide support on transfer pricing and international finance topics
• Ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance through structured control processes

What You Bring

• 5–8 years of experience in accounting and financial operations within Germany
• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
• Professional accounting qualifications are considered a plus
• Strong knowledge of German accounting standards, VAT, and finance processes
• Experience working in international and fast-paced organizations
• Hands‑on experience with accounting systems, DATEV, QuickBooks and/or NetSuite, and reporting tools
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
• High level of accuracy, structure, and attention to detail
• Hands‑on, proactive, and solution‑oriented mindset
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and stakeholders
• Strong interest in automation, process optimization, and continuous improvement
• Fluent in English and German (written and spoken)
