Job summary

Maltego is seeking an Account Manager for the Public Sector who will act as a trusted advisor, owning the commercial relationship and driving adoption and renewals. The role spans government and regulated sectors, coordinating with Enablement, Data Hub, Sales, and Marketing to align product updates with customer needs.

Based in Munich with a hybrid model requiring at least 3 days in the office, you will manage scaled-touch accounts, build stakeholder relationships, and identify growth

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience, ideally with OSINT, cybersecurity, or public sector exposure.
• 3+ years in B2B Account Management or Customer Success with software focus.
• Experience with government/public sector customers and regulated environments.
• Strong written and spoken communication to diverse stakeholders.
• Fluency in English and German; additional languages are a plus.
• Familiarity with CRM tools and software solutions in a commercial context.

Account Manager, Public Sector - German-Speaking (m/w/d)

Maltego is a tool used globally by industry experts, analysts, and law enforcement agencies to help protect and watch-over their own infrastructure but also to keep guard on internet safety, reduce crime and catch bad guys.

As an Account Manager, you will act as a trusted advisor and customer advocate at Maltego, helping customers in our scaled-touch portfolio achieve success and maximize the value of their investment. Your main focus will be to own the commercial relationship, drive adoption and retention, ensure successful renewals, and identify up- and cross-sell opportunities. You will work closely with Enablement, Data Hub, Sales, and Marketing to understand our product roadmap, share customer feedback, and ensure relevant updates reach customers in a clear and timely way.

What to expect

Your responsibilities will include:

• Own and manage a scaled-touch account portfolio, ensuring consistent customer engagement, portfolio health, and commercial performance.
• Manage the customer journey from onboarding and adoption to renewal and expansion, balancing scalable engagement with targeted high-impact touchpoints.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with decision-makers, practitioners, and key stakeholders across government accounts and related organizations.
• Proactively identify customer risks by monitoring portfolio metrics, product usage, renewal signals, and customer feedback, and develop practical mitigation plans.
• Identify growth opportunities within your portfolio to drive up- and cross-sell and strategically grow the account.
• Create and execute lightweight account plans and success plans that support value realization, retention, and expansion across a larger account base.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders across Sales, Customer Success, Success Services, Product, and Enablement to ensure customer satisfaction, timely issue resolution, and scalable customer success.

Your profile in short

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience, ideally with a background or strong interest in OSINT, cybersecurity, law enforcement, public sector, or trust and safety.
• 3+ years of experience in a B2B Account Management, Customer Success, or commercial customer-facing role, preferably in software, cybersecurity, OSINT, or investigations technology.
• Proven experience working with government, public sector, law enforcement, intelligence, defense, or similarly regulated customers is required.
• You understand the needs of scaled-touch customers and can prioritize effectively across a broad portfolio while still creating meaningful customer outcomes.
• You bring strong communication skills, both in writing and in customer conversations, and can clearly articulate value to technical users, business stakeholders, and decision-makers.
• You are familiar with cybersecurity, OSINT, investigations, or threat intelligence use cases and are motivated to support customers working in mission-critical environments.
• You seek opportunities with a business and sales mind-set to find win/win solutions and grow the pie
• You have an affinity for software tools and experience using Microsoft Office, CRM systems such as Salesforce, and Account Management or Customer Success tools.
• Fluent in English and German (written and spoken), additional European languages are a plus
