Academic staff member (f/m/d)

In the Department of Electrical Radio Technologies for Automated and Connected Vehicles Research Group at the Technische Universität Ilmenau (Germany) is a vacancy for a staff member starting from January 1st, 2026.

With our research, we want to contribute to making automated and connected driving a reality and enabling vehicles to move safely in traffic using communication and sensor technology. Responsibilities
  • Research scientific questions in metrological characterization of radar reflectivities for use in automated and connected driving.
  • Actively participate in defining further relevant questions and derive new research ideas within the project context.
  • Supervise student assistants and guide them in scientific work.
  • Maintain close contact with research partners and represent the group through presentations at conferences and symposia as well as through scientific publications.
Qualifications
  • Successfully completed a diploma or master’s degree in electrical engineering, communications technology, or a comparable course of study at a university.
  • Very good command of the English language, both written and spoken.

Following competences are desirable: ideally you already have knowledge in the fields of radar technology, microwave measurement technology, and signal processing, and are willing to conduct independent scientific work.

Please provide evidence of the qualifications required for the job by certificates and references.

What we offer you
  • Attractive remuneration according to the collective agreement (TV‑L) including a special annual payment.
