Job summary

Houlihan Lokey is seeking an Off-Cycle Intern to join our Real Estate Capital Solutions team in Munich. This internship offers exposure to live deals, cash flow modeling, and collaboration with senior bankers on acquisitions, financing, and restructurings.

You will build financial models, assist with pitch books and memoranda, and gain hands-on experience in real estate capital markets. Fluent German and English, a relevant degree, and MS Office skills are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in German and English.
• Outstanding academic record; preference for accounting, economics, finance, or real estate.
• Previous internship in real estate investment, debt advisory, M&A advisory, private equity or restructuring.
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills, especially cash flow modelling.
• Ability to work under pressure and with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

We're looking for an Off-Cycle Intern to join our Real Estate Capital Solutions team in Munich. Throughout your internship, you will get similar levels of exposure as a first-year Analyst, taking on early responsibility and direct exposure to senior leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Building financial and cash flow models for real estate assets and platforms
• Assisting in the preparation of pitch books, investment memoranda, and financing memoranda
• Supporting the execution of real estate focused capital markets- and M&A transactions, including strategic advisory on acquisitions and divestitures
• Assisting in debt advisory for large-scale financings and complex liability restructuring mandates
• Conducting in-depth market, industry, and company analyses on real estate trends

Basic Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with fluency in German and English (additional language skills are also advantageous)
• You will have an outstanding academic record, with preference for a degree in accounting, economics, finance, or real estate
• Have previous internship experience within real estate investment, debt advisory, M&A advisory, private equity, restructuring and/or related fields
• You will have a strong understanding of real estate fundamentals and the underlying economic drivers that impact asset value
• Strong quantitative, financial and analytical skills (especially for cash flow modelling)
• Ability to work well under pressure with attention to detail
• Good proficiency with MS Office particularly PowerPoint and Excel

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in and/or interest in the real estate sector
• International experience is also desirable, but not essential
• You must be motivated and have the ability to work cooperatively with all levels of staff in a rapidly changing, demanding, but ultimately rewarding environment
