Job summary

HOCHTIEF Infrastructure GmbH in Berlin seeks a Civil Engineer (m/f/d) to serve as Project Director / Project Manager for a major Data Center project. You will lead a multidisciplinary team from initiation to handover, ensuring on-time delivery, budget adherence, and top safety standards.

The role requires extensive leadership in large projects, strong PM and contract/risk management, and fluency in German and English.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a comparable discipline.
• Extensive leadership experience in large, complex construction projects.
• Proven track record delivering major projects valued at EUR 500 million+.
• Strong expertise in project management, contract management, and risk management.
• Experience with international contract forms (FIDIC, NEC) is advantageous.
• Fluent German and English, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for the delivery of a strategic data center project.
• Lead and manage the multidisciplinary project team through all phases.
• Ensure delivery on schedule, budget, quality and safety standards.

Take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of a major Data Center project and lead a multidisciplinary team throughout the entire project lifecycle - from project initiation through to client handover.

• Take responsibility for the project's commercial performance, risk management, and contract management


• Oversee planning, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover activities


• Represent HOCHTIEF towards clients, authorities, subcontractors, and other key stakeholders


• Build and develop high-performing project teams while fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence


• Successfully completed degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a comparable discipline


• Extensive leadership experience in managing large and complex construction projects, ideally in the data center or high-tech sector


• Proven track record in delivering major projects with a value exceeding EUR500 million


• Several years of experience in senior project leadership positions


• Strong expertise in project management, contract management, and risk management


• Experience with international contract forms (e.g., FIDIC, NEC) is an advantage


• Fluent German and English language skills, both written and spoken


• Responsibility for one of the most strategically important data center projects within the HOCHTIEF Group
