BMW Group in Munich seeks an experienced AI Infrastructure Engineer to architect and operate scalable cloud and hardware AI platforms for production workloads.

You will deploy AI systems for fine-tuning, inference, and scalable serving, while building data pipelines and enterprise integrations with security at the core.

Requirements include 4+ years in cloud/AI infra, hands-on AWS/Azure, GPU clusters, PyTorch, Kubernetes, and IaC.

Qualifications

• University degree in CS, Systems Engineering, or a comparable technical discipline.
• 4+ years designing and operating modern cloud/AI infrastructure in production.
• Hands-on with AWS, Azure and GPU clusters; NVIDIA GPUs, CUDA, NCCL, InfiniBand.
• Strong Python programming with IaC, APIs, CI/CD, automation, observability.
• Experience with PyTorch and distributed AI training tech (Ray, Slurm, Kubernetes).
• Strong cloud security and IAM knowledge.
• Commitment to continuous learning in AI infra and cybersecurity.

• Furthermore, you engineer, deploy, and operate production-grade AI systems for fine-tuning, inference, and scalable serving of modern AI and Industry Foundation Models.
• In addition, you build and evolve platform capabilities for reliable deployments, Infrastructure as Code, observability, monitoring, and continuous model lifecycle management.
• Moreover, you design scalable data pipelines and AI data flywheels that provide high-quality data and enable continuous learning.
• Additionally, you design robust AI services and integrate them into enterprise platforms while ensuring security, reliability, and operational excellence.
• Finally, you design secure-by-default AI infrastructure and implement identity and access management, infrastructure hardening, secrets management, and security controls for enterprise AI platforms.

What should you bring along?

• University degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a comparable technical discipline.
• At least four years of professional experience designing, building, and operating modern cloud, AI, or platform infrastructure in production environments.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, and high-performance GPU clusters, including NVIDIA GPUs, CUDA, NCCL, and InfiniBand.
• Strong programming skills in Python with experience in Infrastructure as Code, APIs, CI/CD, automation, and observability.
• Practical experience with PyTorch and distributed AI training technologies such as Ray, Slurm, or Kubernetes.
• Strong understanding of cloud security, enterprise infrastructure security, identity and access management, networking, and platform hardening.
• Commitment to continuous learning, including current developments in AI infrastructure, cloud platforms, platform engineering, cybersecurity, and emerging AI technologies.
