Job summary

WSP's Transportation & Infrastructure team in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, is seeking an Intermediate Transportation Designer to help plan and design roadway, intersection, roundabout, and active transportation projects for municipal, provincial, and private clients.

You will coordinate with internal teams, prepare drawings, briefs, quantities, and cost estimates, apply TAC guidance, and mentor junior staff, delivering safe, constructible solutions.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Licensed as a Professional Engineer or eligible for P.Eng designation.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in transportation engineering.
• Strong knowledge of roadway, signalized intersection, roundabout, active transportation and site access design.

Responsibilities

• Lead transportation design assignments including roadways, intersections and roundabouts.
• Prepare and review drawings, briefs, quantities, cost estimates and supporting docs.
• Apply TAC guidance and ensure safe, constructible designs.
• Coordinate roadway elements including alignments, pavement markings, signage and traffic control devices.
• Coordinate with clients, municipalities and junior staff to support delivery and design direction.
