Recurly is seeking a Staff Full-Stack Engineer to shape the technical direction of our marketing and customer engagement platform. You’ll drive architecture and development across Ruby on Rails backend and Vue.js frontend, delivering data-driven, real-time personalization and campaign features.

You will mentor engineers, influence cross-functional teams, and apply AI-assisted development to create business value in MarTech and Payments spaces. Hybrid work from Medellín, Colombia office.

Formación

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience with significant full-stack scope.
• Deep expertise in Ruby on Rails, including ActiveRecord, background job processing, API design, and SOA patterns.
• Strong Vue.js proficiency, including SPA architecture, component design, state management, and frontend performance.
• Proven track record of owning and delivering complex, multi-quarter initiatives end-to-end.
• RESTful API design including versioning, authentication, and third-party integrations.
• Strong database fundamentals, particularly MySQL or similar relational databases.
• Ability to lead technical discussions and drive architecture decisions across teams.
• Experience mentoring senior/mid-level engineers and fostering technical excellence.
• Deep understanding of marketing or customer engagement platforms (campaign management, personalization, A/B testing).
• Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience with agile development and leading cross-functional product teams.
• Fluency with AI-assisted development tools and integrating AI/ML into product features.

Responsabilidades

• Technical Leadership: Set the technical direction for key platform initiatives and drive alignment.
• Full-Stack Development: Build robust, secure, and scalable Rails and Vue.js systems across API design to frontend experiences.
• Mentorship: Coach engineers through reviews, design feedback, and pair programming.
• Architecture & Performance: Lead architectural decisions and improve backend/frontend performance.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product, Design, and Customer Success to translate problems into solutions.
• Engineering Standards: Improve code quality, testing, security, and observability.
• AI-Augmented Development: Leverage AI tooling to accelerate delivery and add value.
• Agile Delivery: Lead in a fast-paced environment with iterative shipping.
• Incident Leadership: Drive resolution of production incidents and post-incident reviews.
