ScotiaGBS Colombia del grupo Scotiabank is seeking a Sr Business Intelligence & Data Analyst to transform data into strategic insights across the organization.

You will build and maintain data architectures, design dashboards, ensure data quality, collaborate with cross-functional teams including international partners, and drive decisions with robust analytics while promoting data governance and scalable processes.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• 2+ years of MIS/BI or data analytics experience in corporate environments.
• Experience designing executive reports and dashboards for varied levels.
• Experience automating reporting and analytics to improve efficiency.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders.

Responsabilidades

What will you do?

• Build, analyze, and manipulate large volumes of data from multiple sources to develop and maintain a robust data architecture that enables the creation of reports and analytical insights for all levels of the organization, from operational teams to senior management and board members, on both a recurring and ad hoc basis.
• Design, develop, and monitor data quality metrics and indicators, ensuring high standards of accuracy, consistency, reliability, integrity, and information availability. Provide robust analyses and reports to support decision-making within the GBS leadership team.
• Identify, propose, and implement improvements to processes, information flows, and reporting models, leveraging data analysis to enhance operational efficiency, business effectiveness, and performance visibility.
• Provide ongoing support, maintenance, and enhancement of existing data architecture, analytical models, and reporting processes, including technical recommendations for MIS optimization and modernization, with a focus on efficiency, standardization, and data governance.
• Design, develop, and optimize automated processes across operations, reducing manual activities, minimizing errors, and ensuring the scalability and sustainability of analytical solutions.
• Actively participate in cross-functional meetings, serving as an analytical business partner and key point of contact for internal clients and international teams, supporting requirements gathering, incident resolution, and the accurate interpretation of metrics and results.
• Stay up to date with best practices, methodologies, tools, and emerging trends in analytics, business intelligence, and data management, applying a continuous learning mindset that is reflected in the quality of deliverables provided to GBS.
• Provide technical support and methodological guidance to other analysts when required, promoting best practices, consistency, and analytical maturity across the team.

What do you need?

Education, Experience & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field.
• Preferred 2+ years of proven experience in MIS, Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, or similar roles, preferably within corporate environments or Global Business Services (GBS) organizations.
• Strong experience managing large volumes of data from multiple sources while ensuring high standards of quality, accuracy, and reliability.
• Proven experience designing, developing, and maintaining executive reports and dashboards that support decision-making at operational, managerial, and executive levels.
• Experience automating reporting and analytical processes, reducing manual tasks, and improving operational efficiency.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders and acting as a trusted analytical business partner.
• Experience in data quality and data governance, including the definition and monitoring of metrics, standards, and controls.
• Experience providing technical coaching or mentorship to other analysts is desirable.

Business Intelligence & Data Visualization

• Strong proficiency in Power BI, Excel, and/or Access, focused on designing executive dashboards, semantic models, and business-driven KPIs.
• Experience optimizing data processing with Python, emphasizing performance, usability, and information security for reporting and business intelligence solutions.

Databases & Query Languages

• Strong SQL skills for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
• Experience working with relational databases and enterprise platforms, including SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).

Data Analysis & Manipulation

• Advanced Excel skills, including Power Query, Power Pivot, Pivot Tables, and complex formulas.
• Experience using Python for process automation and data transformation.
• Strong knowledge of Data Warehouses, Data Marts, Data Lakes, and dimensional data modeling.

Data Quality & Governance

• Definition and monitoring of data quality metrics and indicators.
• Application of information governance standards, controls, and best practices.

Cloud Environments & Collaboration Tools

• Experience using corporate tools for documentation, requirements management, and collaborative work, such as SharePoint and SharePoint Lists.

Language Requirements

• Advanced English (B2), with regular interaction with teams and stakeholders in Canada.
