Job summary

Accelya Group in Bogota is seeking a Software Engineer – OpenConnect to contribute to development and modernization of our airline connectivity platform. You will design, build, test, and maintain backend services and microservices using Node.js and TypeScript, connecting to airline systems and external providers.

This role focuses on modern cloud-native architecture, with AWS, Kubernetes, and Docker. You will implement robust APIs, integration patterns, and automated tests, while collaborating

Qualifications

• Proven software development experience using TypeScript and Node.js.
• Experience designing, developing, and maintaining backend services, REST APIs, and microservices.
• Strong understanding of asynchronous programming, distributed systems, and API design principles.
• Experience with JSON and XML payloads and complex integrations.
• Experience deploying cloud-based applications on AWS.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes or similar container orchestration.
• Understanding of API authentication, error handling, monitoring, and observability.
• Experience implementing automated unit and integration tests.
• Familiarity with Git-based development workflows and CI/CD.
• Fluent English; interviews will be conducted in English.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services, microservices, APIs, and airline integrations using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Build and maintain REST APIs and integration components for airline workflows (shopping, pricing, booking, settlement).
• Develop adapters connecting OpenConnect with airline systems and external providers.
• Modernize legacy components by migrating functionality to cloud-native microservices.
• Develop and deploy cloud-native applications using AWS, Kubernetes/EKS, and Docker.
• Implement robust error handling, logging, tracing, and monitoring for distributed services.
• Create automated unit and integration tests throughout the SDLC.
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and production support.
