DataArt GmbH, a global software engineering company, seeks a Shopify Engineer to build reliable, scalable ecommerce experiences across multiple brands. You will develop custom themes, create Shopify apps, and design integrations that support a multi-store ecosystem, improving performance, usability, and operational workflows for the product team.

The role requires three+ years in the Shopify ecosystem, strong Liquid and theme development, and experience with Shopify APIs (REST/GraphQL).

Project overview

This project centers on building a flexible multi brand ecommerce environment using the Shopify platform. The team aims to provide fast and accessible storefronts, custom app functionality, and stable backend integrations with internal business systems. The environment is expanding, and your contribution will help shape its evolution.

Position overview

You will work as a Shopify Engineer focused on creating reliable and scalable ecommerce experiences across several brands. You will develop custom themes, build Shopify applications, and design integrations that support a multi store ecosystem. Your work will contribute directly to improving performance, usability, and operational workflows for the product team.

Responsibilities
  • Create reusable templates and components for multi brand setups
  • Build and maintain private or public Shopify applications
  • Integrate with Shopify Admin and Storefront APIs and work with webhooks
  • Build backend services with Node.js for app functionality and platform integrations
  • Support data synchronization with ERP, PIM, or CRM systems
  • Ensure strong performance, SEO readiness, accessibility, and smooth overall UX
  • Troubleshoot platform issues and optimize storefront speed
  • Collaborate with designers, product managers, and QA specialists throughout delivery
Requirements
  • Experience of three years or more working in the Shopify ecosystem
  • Strong knowledge of Liquid and Shopify theme development
  • Experience with Shopify APIs using REST or GraphQL
  • Understanding of ecommerce flows such as catalog, cart, checkout, promotions, and payments
  • Experience developing ecommerce solutions for retail chains or multi store business environments
  • Experience with deployment automation and CI/CD pipelines, including Jenkins
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of deliverables
Nice to have
  • Python experience useful for data integrations or ETL tasks
  • Headless Shopify experience using Hydrogen, Remix, or Next.js
  • Experience with multi store or multi language setups
  • Familiarity with TailwindCSS or other UI frameworks
  • Background in building Shopify apps with Node.js
