Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Engineer – Transmission & Distribution (Secondary) in Bogotá to lead the design and delivery of secondary engineering systems for High Voltage Substations, including protection, control, automation, and communication. You will produce high-quality deliverables across FEED, Detailed Design, Construction, and commissioning phases.

You will prepare documentation, support relay configurations, ensure designs meet standards, and coordinate with other disciplines to ensure

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• 4+ years in secondary systems engineering for HV/EHV substations
• Experience delivering secondary design packages for EPC/DB substations
• Familiarity with IEC/IEEE/ANSI standards and global codes (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver HV substation secondary systems including protection, control, automation, and communication
• Prepare wiring schematics, diagrams, cable schedules and panel layouts
• Develop protection philosophies and basis of design documentation
• Support relay configuration and protection schemes across projects
• Coordinate with multi-discipline teams to ensure integrated, clash-free designs
• Provide technical input for estimates, risk mitigation, and change management
• Assist in FAT, site testing, and commissioning documentation when required
