Job summary

Golder Associates Ltd. seeks a senior Lead Track Engineer to drive planning, design, and optimization of track geometry and infrastructure for passenger and freight rail projects in Colombia.

You will lead track design efforts across disciplines, mentor staff, and ensure compliance with industry standards. You will work with the Bogota GCC Rail Track team and collaborate with Canadian counterparts to deliver integrated solutions across national and international projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline from an accredited program.
• 10+ years’ experience in railway track engineering, including delivery of complex rail transit projects.
• Strong knowledge of AREMA, CN, CPKC, TCRP, and Transport Canada requirements.
• Demonstrated leadership in project management, technical leadership, and client-facing roles.
• Ability to lead technical inputs and support business development efforts.
• Solid understanding of track construction methods, inspection practices, asset management, and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and review of track geometry and railway infrastructure designs per industry standards and client requirements.
• Serve as discipline lead for track design on rail and transit projects, guiding approach for complex components and team tasks.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship across levels to foster technical excellence.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure design integration and project optimization.
• Conduct technical reviews, risk assessments, constructability analyses, and value engineering.
• Demonstrate initiative, creativity, and innovation in design and delivery.
• Maintain advanced English proficiency in written and spoken communication.
