Job summary

Golder Associates Ltd. in Colombia seeks an Intermediate Substations Engineer to develop physical layouts and engineering designs for HV and EHV substations 230 kV and above.

You will create GA drawings, site plans, elevations, sections, and installation drawings, coordinating with civil, structural, protection & control, and project management teams. Strong AutoCAD skills, a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, and 6–9 years of substation experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 6-9 years of transmission and distribution substation experience.
• Experience in physical design and layout for 230 kV+ substations.
• Proficient in AutoCAD for engineering design and drafting.

Responsibilities

• Develop physical layouts and engineering designs for HV and EHV substations.
• Prepare GA drawings, site plans, elevations, sections, and installation drawings.
• Design and coordinate substation equipment arrangements with safety and constructability in mind.
• Develop grounding layouts, cable trench routing, and lightning protection.
• Support greenfield and brownfield projects and expansions.
• Collaborate with civil, structural, protection & control, and other teams.
• Review vendor drawings and incorporate equipment requirements.
• Prepare BOMs, technical reports, and engineering calculations.
• Implement deliverables per client specifications and standards.
• Support project execution activities and design reviews.
