Sovos is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to own and optimize our production database environments. You will ensure performance, security, and availability for mission-critical SaaS apps across global customers.

You will lead patches, upgrades, and migrations, mentor junior DBAs, and apply AI-driven tools to streamline operations while collaborating with software engineers and product teams to ensure scalable, reliable data services.

Formación

• Strong foundational knowledge in database systems with hands-on experience managing production environments.
• Proven ability to resolve performance issues and implement tuning solutions for SQL Server.
• Deep understanding of SQL Server internals and query optimization.
• Fluent English, written and verbal.
• Ability to guide peers and collaborate with Product and Tech teams.
• Comfort with using AI tooling to improve productivity and operations.

Responsabilidades

• Serve as SME for critical database technologies, leading incident resolution and performance tuning.
• Monitor and optimize database performance to improve query response times and throughput.
• Review query designs and schema changes with engineers for efficiency and scalability before deployment.
• Lead patches, upgrades, migrations, and disaster recovery testing with minimal downtime.
• Mentor junior DBAs and application teams on database best practices.
• Leverage AI-assisted tooling to streamline monitoring and root-cause analysis.
• Communicate health status and risks to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
