Gorilla Logic, Inc. seeks a Senior Quality Engineer / QE Technical Lead located in Colombia or Costa Rica to own quality engineering, establish testing strategies, and lead automation efforts in an evolving startup-like environment.

The role requires designing testing approaches, building testing frameworks from scratch, and guiding AI-related validation where applicable. Strong hands-on automation and API testing experience are essential.

- This position is open to candidates located in Colombia or Costa Rica only - Gorilla Logic is looking for a highly experienced Senior Quality Engineer / QE Technical Lead with strong hands-on expertise in test automation, quality engineering strategy, and building testing frameworks from scratch. The selected candidate will join an environment where QA infrastructure and processes are still being established. This position requires someone capable of taking technical ownership of quality engineering, defining testing approaches, making architectural decisions, and implementing the foundations needed to support ongoing automation efforts. The ideal candidate is more than an experienced test automation engineer. We need someone who can establish and lead quality engineering capabilities in an evolving, startup-like environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement test automation frameworks from scratch.
• Establish testing strategies and quality engineering practices.
• Develop automated tests using Playwright or equivalent frameworks.
• Design and execute API testing strategies.
• Apply white-box and black-box testing methodologies.
• Evaluate code coverage and determine appropriate testing approaches for service-layer components.
• Review code and identify potential quality risks or gaps.
• Design meaningful test cases and validation strategies.
• Define testing approaches for AI-based implementations, when applicable.
• Contribute to adversarial testing and validation of AI-driven solutions.
• Troubleshoot testing and automation issues independently.
• Establish reusable frameworks and foundations to support future QA activities.

Technical Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience in Quality Engineering and Test Automation.
• Demonstrated experience designing and implementing automation frameworks from scratch.
• Experience with Playwright or equivalent automation frameworks.
• Solid understanding of API testing, including tools such as Postman.
• Strong knowledge of white-box and black-box testing methodologies.
• Understanding of code coverage and how to assess coverage at the service layer.
• Ability to read, review, and analyze code.
• Programming skills sufficient to build, maintain, and evaluate automated testing solutions.
• Experience designing test cases and defining testing strategies.

Bonus Skills

• Experience testing AI-based applications or implementations.
• Familiarity with adversarial prompting and AI validation techniques.
• Understanding of model drift and approaches to testing non-deterministic AI behavior.
• Knowledge of deterministic versus non-deterministic testing scenarios.
• Experience establishing QA practices in Greenfield projects.
• Previous experience in a QE Technical Lead or Architect capacity.
