About Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI)
The Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) is a treaty-based international inter-governmental organization established to support and promote strong, inclusive, and sustainable economic growth in developing countries and emerging economies. As a specialized agency dedicated to advancing green growth policies and investments, GGGI works across multiple sectors to integrate environmental sustainability with economic development objectives. GGGI operates with a mission centered on mobilizing finance and expertise to accelerate the transition toward sustainable, low-carbon, and climate-resilient economies. The organization combines policy advisory services with direct project implementation, focusing on areas including renewable energy, green infrastructure, sustainable agriculture, and forest conservation. With member countries and operational presence across Asia, Africa, and Latin America, GGGI facilitates knowledge exchange and capacity building among governments, financial institutions, and development partners. The organization has positioned itself as a leader in forest finance and sustainable value chain development, particularly in response to global commitments outlined in frameworks such as the Glasgow Leaders’ Declaration on Forests, the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, and various United Nations climate and biodiversity conventions. GGGI’s work on forest conservation and financing is supported by major international partners including the European Union, the World Bank, and bilateral development agencies. The organization’s approach combines technical expertise in financial engineering with deep understanding of local contexts to design instruments that mobilize both public and private capital toward sustainable forest management and conservation.
