Job summary

EPAM Systems Inc. seeks a Senior Java Developer with AI experience to engineer scalable backend services. You will shape architecture, implement Java 8+ components with Spring Boot, and integrate REST APIs on Microsoft Azure and AWS.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, review code, mentor juniors, and support planning with estimates while maintaining documentation and staying current with industry practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience.
• Strong knowledge of Java core and OOP principles.
• Experience with Spring Boot and microservices architecture.
• Proficiency in REST API design and integration.
• Familiarity with Azure and AWS cloud platforms.
• CI/CD workflows and automated release processes.
• Strong SQL skills; NoSQL experience is a plus.
• Unit testing to ensure reliability and quality.
• English at least B2 level.

Responsibilities

• Build scalable backend services and strengthen delivery with AI principles.
• Drive microservice architecture decisions and develop Java 8+ components.
• Integrate REST APIs on cloud platforms (Azure, AWS).
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely delivery and quality.
• Review and critique code to uphold standards and reduce defects.
• Coach junior team members to raise technical capabilities.
• Provide estimates to support planning and timelines.
• Maintain documentation of key decisions for long-term sustainability.
• Engage with stakeholders to refine requirements and outcomes.
