Abbott is seeking a Senior DevOps & Systems Specialist for a Bogotá, Colombia role. You will develop validation documentation for new and existing applications, administer ALM/DevOps tools, and provide tiered support to developers and testers across enterprise systems.

You’ll collaborate with vendors, maintain monitoring, and establish technology standards while ensuring regulatory compliance with FDA requirements and Abbott policies.

Formación

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of technical IT experience.
  • 5+ years of document drafting experience in English.
  • Extensive knowledge of R&D applications including: Source control, CI/CD, Defect tracking, ALM systems.

Responsabilidades

  • Develop validation related documentation for new and existing applications in ServiceNow.
  • Create and route architectural design, requirements specifications, and test sets including tracing of requirements through test in ALM.
  • Administer ALM and DevOps solutions, source code control systems, CI/CD platforms, requirements management tools, defect tracking systems, cloud technologies, and other collaborative solutions supporting business partners.
  • Provide technical support to Developers, Testers, and Engineers.
  • Deliver high‑touch, one‑on‑one business assistance for new projects, enhancements, and general support needs.
  • Provide Level 1 and Level 2 support for ServiceNow incidents and work orders.
  • Collaborate with vendors to resolve issues beyond Level 2 support.
  • Maintain server and client software updates.
  • Manage server and application‑level monitoring.
  • Oversee additional application capabilities and integrations with other enterprise systems.
  • Maintain documentation for supported applications for Abbott teams.
  • Communicate clearly and proactively with business partners and IT teams.
  • Establish technology standards for new and existing systems and recommend improvements where appropriate.
  • Review, analyze, and modify business application systems including configuration, testing, debugging, and implementation.
  • Create robust test designs, develop test cases, and execute/document test activities.
  • Support existing applications and resolve both business and technical issues.
  • Stay informed of technology trends and emerging solutions to advise management on opportunities for improvement.
  • Communicate effectively with management to ensure understanding of capabilities, opportunities, and limitations of information systems.
  • Follow system change control processes and procedures.
  • Comply with FDA regulations, other regulatory requirements, and all company policies, procedures, processes, and task assignments.

The Opportunity

This is a role based in Bogotá, Colombia.

What You’ll Do
  • Develop validation related documentation for new and existing applications in ServiceNow.
  • Create and route architectural design, requirements specifications, and test sets including tracing of requirements through test in Open Text ALM.
  • Administer ALM and DevOps solutions, source code control systems, CI/CD platforms, requirements management tools, defect tracking systems, cloud technologies, and other collaborative solutions supporting business partners.
  • Provide technical support to Developers, Testers, and Engineers.
  • Deliver high‑touch, one‑on‑one business assistance for new projects, enhancements, and general support needs.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of technical IT experience.
  • 5+ years of document drafting experience in English.
  • Extensive knowledge of R&D applications including: Source control: AccuRev, Bitbucket CI/CD: Jenkins Defect tracking: Jira Requirements: Codebeamer, ALM, DOORS Risk: Codebeamer Test: ALM, Codebeamer, PTC RV&S Code repositories: Nexus Static analysis: Coverity Knowledge of R&D hardware platforms including Windows, Unix/Linux, and Microsoft Azure.
  • Strong process knowledge and ability to communicate effectively with team members, business partners, and leadership.
  • Experience with application integrations and configuration/maintenance of Commercial‑Off‑The‑Shelf (COTS) solutions.
  • Experience with Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience maintaining and administering ALM related products (Jira, Codebeamer, Confluence, or DOORS) and DevOps related products (Bitbucket, Jenkins, Sonatype Nexus) on both VMs and internally hosted Azure environment.
  • Extensive experience with workflow design, LDAP configurations, system migrations, database management (MySQL, PostgreSQL), Git, and software packaging/deployment.
  • Strong written documentation skills in English.
  • Experience collaborating with customers to understand and implement user requirements.
  • Ability to perform business process analysis and define configuration requirements.
  • Experience developing business process flows and data models for system development or process redesign.
  • Extensive experience drafting documents for FDA validation packages.
  • Ability to evaluate feasibility studies and cost/benefit analyses and recommend continuation, modification, or discontinuation of proposed projects.
  • Experience mapping current processes to future‑state workflows and identifying gaps in functions, outputs, inputs, data conversion strategies, and system controls.
  • Experience with Secure LDAP, certificates, architectural design, and upgrade planning.
  • Extensive knowledge of scripting languages (Shell, Python, PERL).
